G749 Trucks hard to come by

You know if trucks could talk I'd say this m211 is goading the m35 on "...what's the problem, too cold for you to come out and play....better wait for warmer weather you sissy...."

    Carboarius' 1954 M211

Nice Video footage!! Those tires defintiely change the look of stuff. Neat to see. Got any more M135 beds down there? Once I get thise 211 whipped into shape, I'm gonna take the 207 and m135 and make a complete truck with the two

    xm211 vs winter weather

Plowboy, beyond a shred of doubt, how else are you suppose to have fun? Ashley--What works depends so much on road conditions. I'm assuming you have a fairly warm and wet snow, if you get stuck, don't heat your tires. Meaning don't sit there and hog on it spinning your tires and heating them...

G749 Trucks hard to come by

I have to honestly say the more I use the m211 the more I can appreciate it. Here in the states, everyone has the opinion it's diesel or go home. I own a m35 myself. But I have to say in a colder weather climate, gotta love gas. We've spent a fair amount of time below zero this year and by using...

Merry Christmas to everyone. Having fun feeding sheep with the truck. 10F when I tried starting it. Shortly before sunrise it was -5F. Didn't start in video. Started right after. https://youtu.be/gSv1MiYqeZI even the shepherd got to enjoy it...

G749 Trucks hard to come by

Decided I needed to start using this truck, shes no trailer queen so to speak.... Started feeding hay off of it. In Montana(and other places I'm sure), most old time ranchers would shift their truck to low range, put it in granny and jump out, then jump in back while the truck rolled along, and...

my theory also is that like any New Texhnology that they figured everything had to perfectly matched. As time goes on it's apparent across the manufacturers that having matched bell housing isn't critical.

Amen! What the heck it sits in a heap for decades, now its the most valuable thing on the place!! What I was trying to say above was that I've heard of other G749ers taking a sledge to the bellhousing and busting it to gain access to all the torus bolts if the engine is stuck. I kept working my...

I've had others in the g749 world tell them they take a sledge to the bellhousing cause it shatters real easy. This is of course only only on a seize engine. I kept working with mine till I could free it.

Gentry are you trying to separate engine and tranny? Pull the 6-8 bolts hat hold inspection cover on, spin the engine over and remove the 32 or 33 bolts that hold the torus on and then there are 6-8 bolts on the bellhousing and separate. The torus has oil in it so when you separate a bunch of...

    G749 preservation

Yes you will need to spin the engine over and remove 33 bolts from flywheel to separate the torus from the flywheel.

Haha, while I'm hauling, could throw it on the pile...but to be fair, I won't be down that way till spring so you may want to pass on my interest if you don't have any room. Also don't wanna put you out running all over the countryside picking up parts for me. Those trannys are a little heavy...

While you are on a roll...what about the hose coming off the air compressor going to the fire wall. Just guessimating, but could one call it the governor hose?? In the pic its the black one-has to crimped ends on it
