I thought I'd include some pics of the flex pipe as seen below. Currently the muffler that is on the truck, and of course the exhaust flipper. Some people pay extra for that on a tractor, but not on a g749-haha
Okay so I'm curious as to everyone's input. Looking for exhaust ideas on how to build a correct complete exhaust. I have some patterns on some pipe from 08. But I was curious if anyone knew of a more correct exhaust clamp than a V-band clamp like used on modern turbo diesel trucks. I found after...
Yes sir,
When would work well for you. Just need to get a few things in order first. Life was easier when you didn't need a passport to go to Canada! Shouldn't take too long, just need to renew it-you know just pay money!! Either of the beasts would be awesome! I'm sure they are light like a...
You can see the sling in this pic. Also the radiator lifting arms-I've always wondered what those were for with the engine in place, I could see the radiator had provisions for it but it never sat in those arms. This engineering behind this truck totally amazes me-if you were on a front line...
So I'm curious how do these engine/transmissions balance when pulled with a chain. I was looking back through your thread plowboy cause I re call you had a pic of one. Looks like its pretty tranny heavy. TM 8024 on page 208 shows using a sling, and I was curious if anyone had the dimensions for...
are you gonna hook a tow bar to it when you shift it to high or just pull it with a rope? Be very interested to see how that turns out, seems like it would be easy for something to fly apart although sounds like a few folks have had good success doing it that way. Glad to see this truck has its...
I did notice that the other day as I was painting that engine and was curious on the settings-my manifold has a small crack. I've also heard it speculated that too lean of a carb setting will do it as well.
What is to become of the shop van body?? Always thought they would make a fun camper
Extra beds have you been holding out on me?
So are you trying to say that when she asks, I blame you, for me buying parts, or trucks?? Now you're being insensitive to my feelors-I've never done that. Well maybe there was that one time, or two , Haha!
There's only two ways she can take it...
Yes sir scrounger it is! haha. I whined about not having a g749, boom you found one down the road. Needed an engine and you called a few days later. I need some extra cash to restore these babies, come on usmc, work your magic!!
Not sure exactly what it was designed for...haha the cab is enlarged inside maybe designated driver ride home type of a truck...other than the driver had a few too many and tore everything off the truck? Demolish-ion derby competitor? It was covered in snow enough, not too sure what was behind...
We were 10F last week, so this weather feels great. We have frost in the ground still, just not 4' down. The snow just left with the warm weather. Going to Medicine Hat, eh? That sounds like Lethbridge would work well for both of us. The poutine from Canadian is calling me...haha.
Glad to hear...
With a significantly colder winter than the past few years , 70 degrees feels warm, but it hit that today and it almost felt hot. The 211 has been begging me all winter to do something to it, and today I finally made good on my promise. Decreased the engine I picked up from South Dakota this...
