    4 cyl M-series waterproof distributor caps (M38, M38A1, M151, L-head, F-head, etc.)

How do you like the performance of the pertronix unit? I've been seriously considering moving over from points.

    Just purchased my 2nd MV...M38A1

Well I've been posting more over in the "what did you do to your jeep today" thread instead of this original thread. After more work, new engine, sweat, frustration, etc it's back running and driving. I'm still fine-tuning a few issues here and there but it starts (mostly) reliably. The family...

Ramsey PTO winch on M38 jeep

If you want a PTO winch, it's much much cheaper to find a koenig (which is I what I did) vs the ramsey 50...those ramsey 50s are worth some SERIOUS $$$

What have you done to your JEEP today

I'm waiting on parts to arrive so I can tear into the jeep this weekend. The wife/kids are out of town for a week or so....so I have some time to really work on the jeep w/out worrying about neglecting family time. I ordered another new headlight (I think I may have some grounding issues...

    Thoughts on Boyce built trucks.

I bought my truck from boyce for much of the same reasons. I wanted a truck that had been gone through and was ready to go. I wanted a vehicle I could spend time enjoying vs working on for months and months). It was a great truck. I owned it from 2010-2021 and it never gave my any major issues...

    Antenna Mount M38A1

Pics of this setup aren't too common. However, I have a few in my pics folder. Here are a few I have saved from some earlier research into this mount.

    M38A1 Top

nice find. I've been hunting a hard top for my M38A1 for a while now...but they are priced fairly high in my area (texas)

    Exhaust heat wrap

I wrapped my exhaust for the exact same reason (concerned with the extreme exhaust heat toasting my brake fluid). When I did the first brake fluid flush I noticed significant discoloration of the front brake fluid (DOT5) vs my rear fluid which was still looking good. I used a wrap off Amazon...

What have you done to your JEEP today

I had the chance to give the jeep another drive over the weekend. Unfortunately, even with the valves set correctly, zero vacuum leaks, carb re-cleaned and checked, and the carb float set pretty close to the correct height of 9/64ths, I'm still fouling plugs (carbon fouling). I've also messed...

What have you done to your JEEP today

Friday afternoon a buddy came by and we tore into the jeep to fix a few issues (hard start, flooding, funky idle, and a few odds and ends). We re-adjusted the valves (correctly this time) which brought everything back into spec. Originally we adjusted them hot, however the sticker right there on...

What have you done to your JEEP today

this weekend a buddy came over and we got some work done on the jeep. We adjusted the intake valves (haven't don't exhaust yet) and they were set to SUPER tight.....now set to the proper 0.018in. I hear much more of that "clattery" valve noise while driving now but it runs MUCH MUCH better...

What have you done to your JEEP today

that strata blue is going to look sharp (I love strata blue MVs). there is a famous strata blue M38A1 that has been on hte cover of the KW catalog a time or two.... from what I read on the guys build thread he had a special mix of strata blue made which really pops.

What have you done to your JEEP today

I need to pick the brains of the group here. I wanted to verify my understanding based on what I gathered from the TMs regarding re-clocking the oil pump for a timing issue. Currently, my distributor is bottomed out against the generator and I need to rotate it further "down" for timing...

What have you done to your JEEP today

Thanks for the tips. I'll give the pump a double check. Update: After my original post, I went back out to do some more troubleshooting. I found and fixed a few issues...now the jeep is running GREAT!!! I apparently had a major leak around the carb mounting gasket. I cranked down on the...

What have you done to your JEEP today

So today was an exciting day. After a long long process, it's finally back on the road. I checked off the last few items on my to-to list....check the fluid in my transmission and x-fer case, buttoned up my vacuum system, wrapped my exhaust, cleaned the gas tank, hooked up the fuel system, and...

What have you done to your JEEP today

My radiator cap arrived today...only three days late (thanks fedex). On the way to work I stopped at the parts store and picked-up the last few brass pieces I need to complete my vacuum system. So that will be done and off the to-do list. I also stopped by the courthouse and completed the...

What have you done to your JEEP today

Unfortunately, it's been way too cold to have another long day in the shop. We should be warming up again in a few days so I'm going to make a hard push next week to button up everything (or most everything). Since Saturday, I've replaced a headlight, checked (and topped off) fluid levels in...
