Remove tank. Fill with few gallons of E85 fuel (alcohol) and a few shovels of pea gravel. Roll tank around. Will look clean enough to perform open heart surgery when done.
Best to only delete the PCB starter solenoid if you have upgraded to a modern starter which contains an external relay upon itself, pictured below. Dash starter switches are typically not rated for starter solenoid power. They can and will do it, but question would become for how long.

Where?
Ha ha. Looks good bro. What did you use? I’m liking the glossier finish, that stays. Mine was the Rapco, but dulled / flakes pretty quick after. I think the Behr that a lot off folks use retains the gloss better? I need to research posts and respray. Too bad you are like 9...
Good diag procedure. You can pump air into the truck with a gas powered air compressor if you really need to move it by driving to save it from swimming, then fix it later. 925’s are not cheap anymore.
The Detroits have a gear pump to send pressurized fuel to the injectors. They are unit injectors, meaning each of them is their own high pressure pump. There is a restriction jet on the return side to keep pressure up. It is a pretty simple system.
Yes, remove one valve cover and make sure...
There are no signs of contact after having installed my plates. I was going to do a valve spring between each bolt and plate to address, but there was another member who saw no contact after doing so as well. The plates are spaced out to begin with (like my sister). Also, with articulation...
Drill and tap new stock ones with a threaded hole to bolt on a retainer plate. Quickly and easily done on a lathe before installation. Old ones press out easily with a shell of an old one. New ones press in by just pushing on the solid center, use lube.
I used the shaved wrench, then...
Be nice to Will.
Replace the engine mount bolts with cotter pins. Throw some more fuel and boost at it, she'll be back out and riding the grass again soon enough. Sexy starter though!
This is a second thread to the already going 8.3L hop up thread.
Anyway, our generation (1990) of 8.3's are somewhat limited due to a weaker block deck. It can crack easily, and was later fixed about 1992 or so. The injector choices are easier to come by now, because a lot of shops can make...
Medium and heavy duty engine to trans connectivity typically follows SAE standard orientation. You can nearly bolt anything to anything, as long as it is not proprietary. Some require unique flywheel housings, but still yes.
ISL power range is 330-450hp. Externally same dimensions as...
This is like a family reunion. We have Tex, SD, a moderator, and even Another Ahab brought back from the dead and checking in. See, look how excited everybody is about 13 speeds of 400hp ISL 4 valve VGT roller lifter Jake brake power! Gun turret, dump hoist, and maybe I'll be let into truck...
20,000lb is set by the hydraulic relief valve in the circuit (1750psi or so). This is why they don’t have shear pins like the mechanically driven winches.
I stuck my M925a2 to nearly the top of all six 14.00 tires in mud, playing. Nearest tree was 190’ away. Single line winch pulled it...
I was going to simply up the power of my 6CTA8.3. Bought a governor spring kit, studied both fuel rate adjustments on the MW pump, bought higher flow injectors with more holes, bought a P pump, drilled and tapped the exhaust manifold for EGT and pressure probes, then before I installed any of...
