I haven't used his products but there seems to be lots of positive feedback for William Welch's Blue Ox Tops. He makes them himself to order. I have seen him on facebook and I'm not sure if he is on here.
Looks like a defective part. The wheels are not sticking out much at all and even though the tires are larger I would guess the weight is much reduced from the steel wheel with OEM runflats
So I read this thread after commenting on your tire thread. I have to say you have got to be one of the most rebellious Swiss I have ever met (virtually in this case!). I worked in Solothurn a week every month for a few years and you seem to be an outlier for certain! Congratulations on what...
Great advice TOBASH. Being an engineer by training I hate not knowing why something happened! I need to make peace with it. The gentleman doing the work is picking it up with his trailer, we got rained out last night so we delayed a day. He gave me essentially the same advice, things happen...
I took a look again. The shifter works correctly and shifts correctly between all gears including forcing it down into 1 only. Good call Maxjeep about the flushing of the lines, I'll ask for that. The overall package I bought from bowtie comes with a temporary magnetic inline filter as well...
Transporting it is delayed a day or two so I checked the fluid level again and took it down the street. It holds in first gear with no slipping but doesn’t want to shift under throttle to second. If I let up the accelerator it up shifts and second isn’t there. It just freewheels like it’s in...
This will also be a great adventure so take some pictures and videos to share. The last guy who tried doing 1000 miles out of the gate at govplanet got 1.8 million views on YouTube!
I would agree the stock wrangler MTRs will work. They are not the best in rain and snow on the highway but are a good all around tire on the stock wheels. The lack of sipping cuts just makes them slippery in rain so be careful.
has the truck been serviced by anyone before shipping. Making it...
So today was the day to head to get the turbo 400 transmission swapped on the M998. I have purchased and received a level 3 700r4 from Bowtie with all the accessories and it was in the bed of the humvee and ready to head out.
Yesterday I had finished installing the tach from SECO and also...
I would also add the 3-speed is fine for street driving and bullet proof. The highway is where it will drive you crazy when you are at 55 and the engine is screaming.
I am one day from the start of my swap to a 700r4 that was built to level 3. My thoughts are I would get the truck and as-is kick the tires on it for at least a few months. Stuff is going to need to be replaced, there's going to be a few gremlins to iron out on any vehicle this age. I have...
Knowing the DMV staff are over stressed, overworked and their only real power play is to ruin the day of people that give them an attitude I approach these things with caution. Play really nice, thank them for the chance to talk to them, compliment their hair, whatever you can to start off...
I’ve had the kayme model CC-PK-L for mine for three years and it’s held extremely well. It’s under $100 and fits my M998 even with the cargo cover on the back. It’s not custom fit but with the straps on it stays put. The under the truck strap was not long enough so I did add a bungee cord to it.
I got a two camera system from Amazon that’s been working well. The wireless flickers every once in a while but been pretty good. It was 24v capable and I tied the camera into the tail lights and the monitor into the dash light since I always drive with the lights on. It was this model...
It’s like this thread read my mind the past two days! I had the exact question about if I could use two noco 12v boosts on both batteries like Coug did. I have one and can easily get another. I was looking at quality 24v boosters and they were $500.
My dilemma came this weekend when I went to...
I finished taking as many dents as possible from the M1102 I bought, powerwashing the live ammo and mud out of the bed, and painting it. Got it done just in time to haul the boys baseball team in the fireman’s parade.
