And this is where u/squirt-truck, u/dumpster and a few other rally pathfinders went on a recon trip a couple weeks ago.
Make sure to thank these people for spending all the time and money to go up there and make sure the facility was what we needed
"Snap, I got my tires wet. Shoot"
Ok, an enormous part of the rally has always been the offroading. So few events have such a feature and on top of that, there are very few places big enough to accommodate our large 6x6s (and 8x8s :) ), so this is something we're really proud of.
Here are some pictures of the offroading at...
The official 2022 Southeast Military Vehicle Rally information thread (the event formerly known as the Georgia Rally).
So, this is an all new event for 2022, so I’ll give you 90 seconds of background if you’ve never attended. The event started in 2006 in my backyard near Athens, Georgia. It...
Very soon - I was playing phone tag with the events director until yesterday. We had an hour long convo while I sat in a Zaxby's parking lot
I'm almost done with the thread.
So, the date is still good, but I wanted to update: a member of the rally is going to be visiting the new location in a few weeks and is going to bring back a ton of pictures and information, so I'm going to hold off on starting the '22 thread until then, so all the info will be in the thread...
Ok, in post #1, I said I'd do better in 2022.
First, we have a tentative date for 2022. 2nd weekend in October. So October 6th-9th, 2022.
Second, we are working on a new location that we think is going to be bananas awesome. I don't want to put it out there yet, but I should have it solidified...
I can't speak to your particular Napa, but mine carries the 65-205 part #.
I suspect if you ask them, they'll order you a bucket.
My Napa now stocks several deuce items, like wheel cylinders, alternator and compressor belts, etc., after I requested it.
Ok, so this is the week!
I hope everyone is excited about a few days in the nice fall weather with our their friends.
I want to remind everyone about Memphis Equipment's gracious help in sponsoring the event, without them, it would cost all of us a lot more to enjoy this event. I hope...
We'll need some help with the registration tent and just general errands.
If anyone would like to chill with us in the tent and be delighted with my, Mac's, Kenny and Wheelspinner's wonderful senses of humor, PM me or Gunnermac
I never updated this thread and in searching for a totally different thread, I found this one.
The reason that winch driveshaft was getting so personal with the steering box was the crappy A2 style engine crossmember has sagged so much, it's sucked the framerails together.
There are threads...
A big announcement:
Once again, Memphis Equipment has very graciously offered to sponsor our event.
I want to make something painfully clear: We couldn't have done this event without their help and they have sponsored us for several years.
As the rally grew, we had to make it more...
Also, I need an M105 handle - this is for the crank up style landing gear. My company bought an M105A2 and I forgot / didn't realize it didn't have a handle.
