Sorry for the delays.
TL; DR (too long, didn't read)
Too long, didn’t read (TL, DR)
Ok, changes, dates, gripes, etc.
If you’ve been to the rally a bunch of times and all you need is a date, you have it and the above is mostly unnecessary.
So I want to address the new, different and continuing issues for 2020...
There are some big changes for 2020, so you need to read this. There will be a “too long, didn’t read” section summarizing the changes in Post #2
Welcome to the 2020 Georgia Military Vehicle Rally (20GMVR) Official Info thread.
This is our 14th annual event. If you've never been, watch this...
Thanks for the update. Yes, Simp went above and beyond helping me out on this. You have a recommendation for an inline PRV? I'm going to use all DOT air brake tubing when I do this.
1. Airpacks are expensive and the cans are always shot because of the moisture
2. My USAF truck takes 2...
Let's not jump to any hasty conclusions just yet.
Let me wait until I have the info from D-town. I ought to have it any day now. I don't wanna' put a thread up with wrong info.
The dates are Nov. 4-8. They offered us the old 3rd week of October dates but with the warning that there's a motocross event that weekend. Everyone gripes about the racket of all the 2-stroke engines, so I took Nov. 4-8.
We are working on two food selections to replace the MTV. My...
Still waiting on D-town.
The date we agreed to was Nov. 4-8, 2020. I realize that's a couple weeks later than usual but it's all they had.
We could have had the standard Oct. 21-25, but there was a motocross race all weekend in the track right next to us and I figured no one would like...
Just the new part no one has seen yet. They cleared a new section of 300-400 acres. But the trails are small. Jeep small. I requested they open them up for us and there is significant resistance.
re: Sandcobra's entire comment
I have repeatedly tried to explain to D-town, both in terms of the owner and the management, that the HMV hobby has a demographic aspect to it that can't be ignored.
A literal ton of us are refugees from the antique car hobby. I can't afford $20K paintjobs...
I have a date but there are some last minute discussions about prices and park access and I don't want everyone reserving spots if D-town and I can't come to an agreement.
I'm sorry folks. I'm working on this as much as I can.
I have a potential date but there are some other issues I'm dealing with that will take a few more days. Hopefully by the early part of next week, I'll have an announcement
LOL @ financially feasible.
This is like guns and ammo - the Garand will eventually be a pittance of what you spent on ammo.
I think I paid $3300 for my '87 USAF M35A2C from Govt. Liquidation in 2011. I'm now somewhere between $15K and $20K in total investment and that doesn't count fuel or...
This debate is absurd.
Alright, the debate is that in a rollover incident, you're better off being flung out of the vehicle than being crushed.
Ok.
What about the fact that in all other traffic accidents, you're better off?
And none of us know what percentage of MV accidents end in a...
So I have a Haldex N50011H, which I believe is original equipment for MRAP and perhaps M939 series trucks.
I'll be installing this on my '87 M35A2C.
After reading up on various threads (https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/air-dryer-for-an-m35a2.65682/), I have questions:
A. I looked...
