I had a truck like that a few years ago. Air cleaner top left off. Sat for 2 years. No water in the engine though. Filled the intercooler. That had to be completely flushed. Soaked the turbo in break free oil and got it completely clean and it actually worked fine. Water in the air compressor...
The breaker box on the left side of the crane? With the on off switch? Its a few relays. The outrigger down sensors trigger relays in the box that allows the second control bank to be engaged. There is a schematic of the box in one of the TMs. I would try sourcing one I think it would be a big...
I would just take it slow. Although the transfer case has its own drain plug, fluid is shared with the trans. You just cant get it all out with the trans drain.
They are 15-25 year old American vehicles. They will all have some issue from time to time. The original owner got rid of them for that very reason. That being said I love my lmtv. So much nicer to drive then the older trucks.
I keep one in my driveway I dont care what my neighbors have to say about it. Auction trucks are a gamble you have to be brave. Or buy a truck from someone reselling it. Big resellers get big bucks for trucks. Some may go thru every inch of it some may not. What state are you in?
I would think there is a signal input somewhere that would raise the idle to a set point and prevent shift into gear. Pto use is common the cat ecm has to have some feature for it.
It unbolts at the front pivot there are hex bolts. You have to disconnect the lift arm and all the electrical/air lines. I used straps around the cab and lifted from above.
Install a small 24v compressor with a one way check valve into the system before the air dryer. I have been considering this for a while. Just not a lot of time in my day. Just in case I have an air issue then I have some sort of back up. Will
The rear ones can be the tractor valve under the back rear. There are 3 diaphragm valves under the drivers side when you fold the cab. I would replace or rebuild them all. Not good to block off gladhands. The brakes will not function properly like that.
There is a thread somewhere but its cargo trucks. The lines were leaking and had to be replaced. The parker store can make them on the spot. Not cheap though.
I find a lot of ground issues in these trucks. The main ground goes thru a current shunt up by the polarity box. I usually add a large ground wire from the batt negative to the main frame rail. If you lift the relay panel there are ground wires that go to the dash. Good to clean upwhere they...
Winch trucks have the hyd reservoir. The slanted part pictured is a storage rack, usually only found on a1 trucks but it will fit a first gen truck as long as you dont have a hyd setup in the way. You could probably make up something like it though.
