It's 4 screws and the return hose. Pull up and it pops off. I haven't had a problem getting one off or on. You'll see where the solenoid arm lands when you take it off. Make sure your rack moves too. I have a pump sitting in the garage I can point to if you can't figure it out.

So someone got something for his 1009 the other day. The funny story was 2 falls ago. I ordered the tag m1009...state said it was available and ready to go. I hit the notary and waited 3 months only to have it denied. That summer we're out looking at a local surplus guys stuff only to find that...
Found a bunch, looks like they used that db2 pump in a bunch of stuff. One thing you'd want to add is the gasket if it doesn't come with one.

Ok was curious with the wires going to the top of the relay one being blue and the other fat battery looking cable hooked to it. What are they hooked to or are you converted to 12 volt now.
The curse of the black goo they stick in those connections!! I think at one point it was some kind of dielectric grease. You're right about these being 3 phase as well as there's a 3 pack diode on the rectifier. I didn't think about it until I was putting my alternator together last night but...
That's good you found that solenoid not working right. Any chance you checked the rack to make sure it moves? My 83 was not clicking loud and the rack was stuck but once I got it moving the solenoid worked. Got lucky and the gasket survived too.

Alternator rebuild day for the 1009. Unfortunately one of the rear bearings got damaged so I won't get both done tonight. These are easy and fairly inexpensive to do plus I get to keep the made in USA cases and internals. Got new fans for this set.

Hey write all you want!! It really helps so I don't have to ask questions to clarify. The drivers side is the only one that needs to be isolated so it should work fine. I have headlights that have all that in it too but didn't want to hook that up.
There's a good bit to unpack here since I think you have more than one problem. I've had this exact issue with one of my rebuilt alternators I did myself. It would pass on the bench but flash once the alternator got some heat in it. The gen light would flash on and off after about 10 minutes or...
Oh that's great news then!! I really didn't know. So that kit is actually a decent one then. Advance auto for the win there...I really was not expecting much for 20$.
Yeah it was frustrating not thinking the new tank and lines that the return got pinched going in. The kit I got is called FKM which from what I can find is decent stuff...some searches said it was the actual material Viton is named after but not 100% sure. My son can replace them in about 20...
Ok so the last few weeks we've been fighting the return lines blowing off the injectors. I had the braided 3.5mm hose and 6.5mm clamps that didn't work. Then I found a dorman kit that had the 3.5mm hose non braided and 6mm clamps. Nothing held. So off the the kiss world and had him check the...
That's a tough one. Probably have to break down each one in the tm. If the outside harness is ok you could do pin for pin from the new one to it with simple connections. Hooking up the cluster would be the most work on the inside.

That's good then it's in the green. I was thinking it would work with the light turning on. It's getting a second ground from the 4wd light. I don't think I have a cluster out right now or I'd check to see if the printed board plug is next to each other. I'll look for one I probably do. As far...
