I agree with Jbulach. Unless you want an "as new" engine build I wouldn't hesitate to run those after a good cleaning. If the pits were deeper and the edges could cause possible hot spots then maybe but I'm not seeing that. That pitting is so minor that I don't see any reason to replace them.

I rolled the dice and ordered a 7/16 die along with some grommets. Now to figure out the matching rope and try to find the metal rope terminations. What a pain for such a simple manufacturing mistake. =)

That's the way that I'm reading the attached form. Line 7 appears to override line 6 even if line 2 is marked "Yes" but I haven't been able to verify that.

After more digging and asking a few questions it appears that a commercial vehicle in Washington State with a GVWR of 16.001 pounds or more requires a DOT number but the very next line on the form states that personal vehicles don't require one. Maybe I just need to find a different DOL office.

Agreed, but some years back we added valve stem seals to an old tractor engine during a rebuild at the owners request. Less than 50 hours late the guides were shot and the tractor was smoking. Went back in and did the guides again but without stem seals this time. That tractor is still running...

Any chance that adding seals where none were intended to be could cause the stems to run "dry" and accelerate wear? Something to consider.

The M105A2 that I purchased was owned by the US Forest Service at some point. The only modification to the trailer is two of the brackets shown below. Does anyone recognize these brackets? Based on the weld quality maybe they were hand built by the USFS to fit something specific?
