Just got my complete medium tow bar a few weeks ago and I mentioned to a friend that at some point I would like to build a gin pole. On his next trip through town he dropped off a random tow bar front half just in case I ever got around to the project. The swing leg has the MWO collar and the...
You bet. For all I know we may both be way off. Knowing military vehicles it wouldn't surprise me if the correct method is to just jam the window down past the wiper and it pops up into the correct position when the window is rolled up. =)
There is another trick that I have used on older vehicles with inverted wipers using a wire coat hanger "spoon". Bend the coat hanger into the shape shown below.
With the window slightly angled so that it is only contacting a small section of the wiper at one end insert the spoon in the slot...
An old post but to me the most accurate. I paid around $10k (with out of state transport) for a clean, rust free, complete M35A2C AF Deuce with split brakes. I started out ahead based on the condition of the truck. Unfortunately, in my typical fashion, I started stock piling spare parts and...
May sound stupid but a thin piece of cardboard might allow you to pull up as the window goes down and pop the wiper lip up and out of the way. I have this task coming up and I was thinking about a heavy piece of plastic, piece of an old tarp, or even a garbage bag might work. A heavy black...
As promised here is the update on the Dorman 3577 kits. While I knew that they didn't include the boots they do include the pistons. Unfortunately what arrived doesn't match the photos. They have the bad springs and unmarked Made in China cups. Add this to your notes and don't be fooled by the...
The air packs are my next concern. I'd like to have a couple (NOS or used) on the shelf along with a couple of rebuild kits. Right now I'm spending far more time tracking down spare parts to put on the shelf than I am actually working on the truck. Sad state of affairs.
Rather than start another thread I'm kicking this one back up. As noted in much earlier threads the Napa UP 45 kit is long gone. I checked on the Napa UP 4419 wheel cylinders and I can only find 6 of the complete wheel cylinders in the entire PNW Napa supply chain. 4 of which are right here in...
Usually a rapid onset problem indicates a change or some type of failure. As Mullaney stated above, possibly as simple as filters. Always chase the simple solutions first.
Could even be a lift pump that gets weaker as it heats up. I have seen that. Any changes in smoke output or color?
Did this just start? Getting progressively worse? Always been this way? Are you running straight diesel or alternative fuels?
First though would be poor tank venting creating a vacuum after some run time. You can check this by slowly cracking the fuel fill and seeing if you hear it hiss. You...
Last post as to not derail the thread entirely. Just got the new tax appraisal from Spokane County in the mail yesterday. They jumped us 35% in one year. Checked with the neighbors and some friends outside the city and they all get hit with roughly the same increase. Just insane and I know a few...
Thanks Greg. Finally got to build my dream shop and now the county is taxing us right out of the property. With things the way they are we can't afford to leave (without taking a huge hit) and can't really afford to stay. Quite the conundrum.
I found flaps for $15 and tubes for $24 in...
If the turbos that you are looking at use an elbow to connect to the wastegate hose you can replace the stock elbow with an adjustable boost elbow (or just make your own). Depending on the bleed port size you can completely cripple the boost level if you so choose.
Some internally gated turbos...
I was lucky enough to find 20 T-Hawk 373's in new and like new condition. 17 on wheels, many of which are also new. UPS lost my tire bars so I had to reorder those. I just want to make sure that I'm covered on tubes and flaps. The local tire dealer orders tubes and flaps from Goodyear but, oddly...
One more time. Got a pile of Titan tires in a couple of weeks ago. What about tubes and flaps? Are the Korean made Premium Service tubes any good or is there a better choice? I'm not having much luck locally but I did find an online retailer with decent pricing on the Korean tubes and flaps.
Respectfully, I believe that statement is only half correct. The igniter hole is a standard metric thread. The nozzle is an oddball. I don't have my notes in front of me but I think we ended up at M20.5-1.27 (20 TPI). You don't have to look any further than the ether kits supplied by Quick...
I just finished up machining flame heater delete plugs and installing them on my truck. If you want the nozzle and spark plug off the truck I'll send you a set of the stainless plugs for free. Maybe that will take some of the sting out of the damage. Just shoot me a message.
