I did this yesterday and figured I'd write it up though it was relatively straightforward.
The old steel tank was pretty nasty (though I've seen worse) and I was able to pick up an A3 tank for a great price. I started by cleaning out the A3 tank by hand. I first drained about 5 gallons of off...
True this ^ and pray that He continues to preserve it for future generations.
Seriously I feel for you aussie brothers on this one. We yanks have a bit of a kindred feeling for you guys; big open spaces, fiercely independent hard working people with big hearts, a can-do spirit of...
Of course the Stig shows up to ask that :)
The PO of my truck ran it on the 1/4 mile, slow as sin, but he was running against another deuce so actually pulled a win :) There's video of it somewhere here on the site.
If you actually ran yours post up the times.
Chickens for size reference :)
Seriously though I'll be wanting to get those tires from you in a couple of months if you still have them at that point. Between jobs at the moment I can't make the purchase right now
I've got them on mine, what do you want to see?
BTW, you can't sell or use that set you have in the classifieds because they are destined for me, just don't have the dough at the moment :)
Its your standard Habor Freight bed crane but modified to be more useful by the PO. He added some bearings to it to help it pivot under load, as well as put a mount on the bumper for it to help with pulling heads.
Oh, and most importantly...he painted it OD :D
This actually is a great idea. One option (for us cheapos) being just the plate, another option being the full kit with gauges and filters etc.
Definitely interested in what the price point will be, I'm looking to purchase a spin-on option very soon.
Good stuff, spin on fuel filters are on my list.
Do those WIX have drains on them?
Getting to the drains in the stock ones without getting a diesel shower is tricky
Picked up a 500 gal fuel tank a relative gave to me. Going to use it for diesel since all of our vehicles run off of diesel and now that we have the deuce. While prices are low I think I'll probably get some at a bulk rate.
The bed crane that the PO put together worked really great he even put...
Picked up some rear lifting shackles (that go one spring pack) because...well I'm not really sure why...as well as a clean used passenger window, the proper twist style wiper actuator, a fender exhaust flange, and gaskets for the sender and pump so I can install my A3 tank.
