Steel Soldiers MV of the month 2020 - July VOTE HERE

Mike, I spied an M810 last year on GP in Michigan. The truck didn't run, but was complete and clean right down to the seat upholstery. The only ugly spot was the right side front fender and bumper. Several very nice entrants this month, and one hard decision.

Steel Soldiers MV of the month 2020 - July VOTE HERE

Quaker, those hinged mud flaps are a giveaway that this is an early truck, I think 1951 was the first year. The speedo is in MPH & KM/H with 42,618 on the odometer. This is a later model speedo, and 42,616 are a fair amount of miles. I would like to see how many miles were on the original...

Steel Soldiers MV of the month 2020 - July VOTE HERE

I'm kind of stuck between two old trucks. Heck, one is older than me, or PB, so it's real old. Quaker, how about sharing some pics and some stories about that sweet old truck you entered. Especially some interior and under the hood shots. And Mike, how about some interior and engine compartment...

MV of the Month July 2020

Phoenix, after I bought the M35 & M105 my wife kind of tolerated the green vehicles in the driveway. When she mentioned that Jeeps were cute, and having one would be nice, I jumped on the suggestion and purchased a 1953 M38A1 Jeep. She went out and purchased an OD outfit and full camo outfit to...

    M38A1 YS 950S Carb Doesn't Fit

Found out that even with the spacer the YS carb doesn't fit. It turns out the model of valve cover is wrong. Somewhere along the way, a previous owner swapped out the M38A1 engine, and replaced it with a commercial F134 F Head engine from a Willy's pickup, or station wagon. The commercial engine...

    My first military vehicle

In Southern California in the 70s, the Thing cost about $1000.00 or more than the VW Beetle, so sales were slow.

    My first military vehicle

Chris, in the States Volkswagen marketed the 181 as the "Thing". This 1974 edition is leading a 4th of July parade. I think VW marketed the car here for about 4 years, almost all were soft tops but I do recall seeing a few hard tops. Due to scarcity, the nice ones bring a good price......about...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Some people use Red Loctite in the wrong place and for the wrong reasons. On my PTO studs I use white Permatex thread sealant. Keeps those little leaks from happening, and I've never had a PTO stud back out. Glad you got yours taken care of.
