Welcome to the Outfit!
Shop the insurance. It is worth asking several different companies what they have to offer. Farm Bureau is a possibility. They have several trucks on my policy and mine is a commercial policy for the best price for me. I have one HMMWV and several 5-Tons on it...

Definitely save your money. Those grounding kits will work - but spending a weekend cleaning every point of contact and a tube of anti-oxidant paste will make a lot of gremlins go away...

The needle that @Jbulach referenced looks kinda like this (pic below). Your grease gun attaches to the back, the needle depresses the "ball" on the grease fitting. Have a rag handy...

Similar but different I'm afraid. Here is the information that you really need.
In the book, TM 9-2805-257-14 the instructions are on PDF Page 89
Breaker Type ignition instructions start on Page 4-46.
Breakerless ignition instructions start on Page 5-18 (PDF Page 142)

Hi @bigfishtoys ,
You replied to an October 2018 original post. Chances are that a good answer never got posted. The manuals for the Oshkosh P19 are not coded as Class A (for public distribution).
LOGIC ONLY here says that military fire trucks won't have the instructions to winterize...

Looking on the drivers side of the truck - I see spark plug wires - so I am guessing you don't have a multi-fuel. Open the tank and give it a sniff? Way back when there was a kit to replace the Golden Comet (REO 330 Gas) with a 300ci Ford straight six) Color looks more Ford than I would...

Remove the distributor cap. Look down inside and see if you see something similar. No, this isn't the real thing, but that barrel looking thing is the condenser and the points open and close as the shaft rotates in that hole in the center. In this picture the grayish bump towards the hole...

Looking awful good.
Almost seems like you can see the end of the running gear work.
Stock / Factory without "rigging' is definitely a plus - and I'm proud to know you for it!

Depending on the model, weight is between 1200 and 1600 pounds. I almost wonder if you wouldn't be better off to slide the shelter off - and get it to a balance point on your dock - then pull forward with the truck. Hopefully you have something heavy (another vehicle?) to tie off to? You...

Hello Pat,
Welcome to the Outfit!
The TM's that @Guyfang sent you will tell you a lot. In our group, he is the Official TM Nag
The "LO" TM (Technical Manual) is the Lube Order book that describes what the military specifies for this unit for Oil and Filters and maintenance...

Driver's Side allows you to fully "charge" the air system.
Really good for finding leaky air lines, problems with CTIS, a pinhole in an air tank, leaky tank drain valves, poppet valves on a gearbox, and so on. (Everything powered by air should function)
The passenger side applies the brakes...

I'm on a computer too @M813rc and the pictures show on my desktop just fine. Being a dinosaur isn't necessarily a bad thing you know. Helps keep the troops in line...

Safety.
If for some goofy reason the "daily driver" got uncoupled it might be possible to save that vehicle. On the other hand - if the to bar stuck straight down into the asphalt - that would be a wild ride for sure!
On the other hand, no driver in the "daily driver" eliminates the...
