Thanks for the welcome. I'll be posting up more pictures later in the week when I can get out back out to take them. Work is getting in the way of fun again...grrrrr...

Good luck with your 928...that is a long truck to maneuver without a pivot point somewhere...
My first order of business is to check all my truck's systems out thoroughly and get her mechanicals serviced and updated. She has sat for at least 6 years and just sitting in a MV yard is very bad for...
Thanks Anvil. Welcome to you as well.
In my area I found a couple A1's and quite a few A2's. I even came across a couple 925's (but be prepared to ante up for the 925's however).
If you want to expand your search area up this way (MI/IN/OH area) send me a note and I can point you to a few...
Thanks AKM.
Yes, she is a nice looking truck as she sits lready.
To be honest my wife didn't really care what I eventually brought home. She told me to do whatever I wanted as it is is my hobby and my dime, but I think she was expecting an OD green pickup or something more Deuce-sized...
Thanks toby.
Yes, I looked at and drove several Deuces as well during my searching. While I know I would have enjoyed a Deuce and the manual trans (I really miss having those in my DD pickups - can't get 'em anymore) the ride and manual steering effort, especially when not on paved roads was...
Finally got mine!
I found a 5-ton that checked all the boxes of what I wanted and I couldn't resist.
1983 M923.
Good engine - runs and sounds good and zero smoke, fires up immediately.
Trans shifts smooth.
G177's (incl. spare) with 80%+ tread.
Hard top.
Fiberglass troop seats/sides and new LED...
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome, advice and support. I'll be needing the support group soon.
Stay tuned...I should have some "BIG" news to share by the end of the week.

Nice. OK. That would explain the need for some time to let the snow melt and some of the water to drain off. Guess I need to take my hip waders with me when I head up in a couple of weeks.

Thanks. I was already in contact with Dennis but he said they still have a bit of snow cover up there and it is a real muck-fest at the moment now in his yard with the spring thaw finally here. So I need to give it a couple of weeks for it to clear up. But I will be headed up there as soon as...
Ha Ha! "For your wife" Nice thought but not a likely excuse to give her. Her comfort level operating large vehicles tops out with my half-ton Ram...even a Deuce would be so far beyond the limit for her she would slap me silly just for suggesting something like that. I gotta come up with a...
Not a Facebook user so I haven't seen those. But titling issues are why I am trying first to find one already in-state if I can that has a MI title to avoid a lot of hassle with the SOS or a titled truck from IN or OH if I need to go out of state.

Porkysplace I agree. I've noticed the Deuce prices as well even over the last couple of years. Anything "reasonably" priced (to me anyway) are starting to all look like valuable as parts trucks only or are so far away geographically that shipping costs alone take them way out of budget range...
Twisted60 yes, I have looked at a few 923's in person and have been very impressed by the size, looks and the driving experience itself. Unfortunately, I missed the big fire sale on them when they were being surplused in large numbers and prices were low. But maybe for my second one...
