Things I noticed whole vacuuming out the cobwebs:
Obviously someone lost the fuel filter battle. Looks like, they drained the oil, took off the oil filter, destroyed the fuel filter, gave up and gave up.
The hour meter reads 22.7 hours. Not the 222.7 in the auction listing.
Here's to hoping...

I stumbled across this while looking for a fuel tank for my 803A. Guy says its still available. $2800 seems...
I will definitely incorporate the shimmed middle caster to my design. Thanks for the tip!!!
So it's in my garage. Pretty much as advertised. Uship guy did a great job. $400 to him, $440 total, and another $200 for a fork lift rental.
Initial quick inspection, there is oil in the crank case...
Ahhh, should have known you already slayed this dragon. The pics are great and present a stable and cheap option to move it about.
I have bigger mobility plans that will involve welding and result in the ability to winch it in and out of my truck bed quickly and safely.
I was looking at this...
Will this work to safely support and move an 803a about my limited garage space? It's a 1500 lb capacity wheel mover missing the bottle jack(easy replace) and I don't initially need to lift it any further...
I like the homebrew idea!!!
I've got a 11KW spa heater for sale locally on Craigslist. That, a cheap used pool pump and some 1.5" hose might make a nice load bank. Although the thermostat is just on or off.
Genny shows up tomorrow, hopefully I can get her running without too much trouble...
Thanks all! Making me have less "I always get out bid" buyers remorse! Honestly bid and expected to get out bid. I always get out bid, except this time!
Matt
Thanks for the info. I hope that's the toughest problem I'm up against. I'm a bit scared of a fully drained unit. Why is it fully drained, no oil filter, coolant overflow tank removed (but present).... Hopefully just drained for shipping and not a catastrophic failure.
It does not appear that...
Greetings from AZ. I recently won this MEP-803a, lots of good pics in the posting.
My MEP-803a
Description mentions "missing Fuse" cannot be tested/started. Here is a pic of what appears to be FU1 missing. Looks like the fuse and screw cap are both missing. What do you guys think?
Tier 2...
Yeah, but I'm pretty sure where it came from and how it was used/maintained. Won't surprise me if it's a runner. Still, they paid retail. I'd bet it was used periodically throughout the year.
Hopefully we pickup a new member with a running 003a!
Later,
Matt
Forgot to answer you, I got the tan one. Dry of all fluids, and missing a fuse behind the control panel. I hope they drained it for transport, and pulled the fuse to keep anyone from cranking it prior to servicing it. More praying than hoping!!!!
Later,
Matt
Thanks guys, I'll pass on this load bank and keep my eyes open for something along the lines suggested. I'm space constrained so an old electric range is out. I did see the homemade one using 3 electric hot water heater elements plumbed to a pool pump. Might go that direction.
I'll pick up...
MEP-803a on the way. Found this load bank locally on craigslist. Guy says it 120volts single phase 6KW capacity.
I know thats way below what 803a can pull. He's asking $275, but its been on there for awhile so I might low ball him.
Is it worth getting for my initial test run on the 803a and...
Oof! So much for buying that 003a. $2200, too rich for my blood. Although I think it's probably a runner! Good luck if you got it. I did win an AC unit today for $25...
