I used 3/8 or 5/16 lugs 2/0, depending on which bolt you are connecting to on a typical military battery terminals. I replaced a bunch of terminals, so you may want to double check your sizes.
I concur. These trailers are very tongue heavy. I assume you have a pintle hitch and tow lights adapter? Towing like this I believe is very illegal. Honestly, It is not worth the risk. You do not know what you are getting from surplus. Lights may not work. Things are rusty. Will the crank work...
I looked at pulling a trailer like this. I would recommend having it shipped. Glad I did. Tires were in such poor condition. Gash down to steel belts of one side.
Never thought the Steyr axles looked as substantial as the Rockwells, but an owner told me today that 2 or 3 axles all get air lockers. Odd to have a front axle locker, but ok.
An inexpensive project for your LMTV. Total cost around $24. SMD 5050 strips. A bit of a PITA to thread through frame. Double sided tape worthless. Glue gun is your friend. Do not use RGB lights. They won't be nearly as bright.
