I have been thinking more and more about putting a 5th wheel plate back on the 54'. Obviously, since the truck has been stretched forward and aft of the bogie it is no longer a true M-45, and with the 5th wheel plate on it won't fit into the category of a M48 because of the stretched wheelbase...
The off road club pays for the use of MRO's water tender to fill the pit. It gets topped off every day for about a week before the event. I think they use one of the hydraunts near IRIS to fill the tender before trucking it out to the site.
Well, the last couple days I have gotten up the gumption to do something to the 54 other than look at it in the mornings as I sip my coffee.
Yesterday I cleaned out the crap that was in the tank, pulled all of the 12v electric pumps off of the truck, pulled all of the strange filters off the...
April 13th 2013, here is the link to the Rally page. Lets go cruisin'!http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?102913-New-Mexico-Rally-April-13th-2013!
Hey guys!
We are having a mudbog down here in Socorro on April 13th 2013! How about we have a rally the same day? As a part of the planning we are talking about making an MV class for the mudbog event to really stir up the pit for the modified and super-modified guys. We have not updated the...
I would go with some used civy radios. They often have more features than their green counterparts, especially in the bands we operate in. I have been impressed with the FT-897D, It is **** for stout and you can build a tuner so you can load anything from a piece of wire to an insulate d tower...
I find it hilarious that they call those lots "Small." What do others think about the balloon park? Time frame? Should we time it so we can all go to the MVPA meeting held at the Hilton and end up at the Balloon park?
Too bad the truck has already been altered WAY beyond the original configuration. It would have been cool to restore it to a bolster truck but I fear that any SERIOUS weight on the rear bogie from a 5th wheel would really screw things up with the frame extensions. Darn it guys... you are giving...
It does have the REB kit installed. The P.O. said that it makes it a dream to shift into and out of 6x6. Where is the frame stamp? Passenger side forward of the shock hanger?
Innnnnnteresting. But notice that the cylinders are in a slanted configuration. Mine are right on top of each-other. Also the foot long extension, do you guys think that was done by the military or once it got into civilian hands?
Opened up the top end of the tranny to look at the synchros on the A2, put it all back together, drove it over 400 miles, towbared back a gasser, and started cleaning the gasser so I can go through it.
