Well John, If you guys do decide to go up let me know. We can meet just off of I-25 here in town and then continue North. That goes for anyone heading up from around this neck of the woods (I know we have a couple members down by the lake).
I know I have seen a build out of California using an M35 chassis and bed that had been modified into a trailer. I want to say it was done by the guy in San Clemente and it had semi style fold up landing legs. I would imagine that you could use the existing air pack from the truck, cap the lines...
I know I have seen a couple M35 frames transformed into trailers but I can't seem to find a build thread on any of them. Does anyone have build photos? Is there any sort of science to finding the point to notch and bend the frame? How does one actually BEND the frame? How is the lunette ring...
Cold Warrior, If you want to break the trip up a bit and you feel you can make it to Socorro, you are welcome to stop here and convoy up with me if you would like.
Pressure washed the deuce and picked up a new inner and outer axle seal in preparation to replace the blown rear seals on the curbside. I also attempted to add a quick coupler to the manifold on the passenger side of the firewall. When I removed the nipple coming forward out of the manifold I...
I have scraped most of the frame forward of the axle on both sides and have yet to find a number stamped on the frame. The round tag and the serial stamped on the data plate differ by a single number, 052524492 is shown on the tag, 052534492 is shown on the data plate.:?
A little googling yielded 3-200th Air Defense Artillery, Battery B in Farmington. I wonder why CARNAC couldn't find any info on this truck since it seems to have lived it's life in the NM Army National Guard
The more I sanded... the more that 2 started to look like either a B or a D. Thoughts? Oh, and I snapped a couple pictures of the truck without the cage on the back / all of the bits of the box. Interestingly enough, every piece of the cage has what appears to be a part number on it stenciled in...
I think you guys have motivated me to go out there and sand a little more. Surprisingly I have yet to go through a single patch of sandpaper. God how I love my black-n-decker mouse. I started the reveal this morning using a razorblade. That got old REALLY quick.
Well, I decided to do a little sanding to find some unit numbers on the deuce today. I am relatively sure that the last unit painted on it is the 111 MEB which would be logical for a NM truck as it the 111 MEB is in Rio Rancho, NM. However, as the sanding continued a mystery developed... a date...
I am using a personal commercial policy through State Farm ~$600/year. I tried Gieco, Progressive, Allstate, AAA, etc and they all said "the GVWR is WHAT?!" The lady from AAA actually started laughing hysterically when I told her the GVWR. Geico and Progressive had me try their commercial policy...
I have another thing to add to the list...
#9 Removed the top, front, and door on the expanded metal cage. The sides are proving to be a ROYAL PITA. They weigh a TON and with no overhead shop crane or backhoe... removing the interlocking sides is likely going to be a 2-4 man process. Removal of...
#1 Popped a couple of dents out of the OBE Box
#2 Took the top off because it was so darn hot outside (90*F on Sunday)
#3 Pressure washed the outside
#4 Filled it up with a little diesel
#5 Drove it out to the local 4x4 park and took a couple photos in the canyon
#6 Filtered some WMO down to 5...

You guys can count on some more photos.8)[thumbzup] I just need to finish my biodiesel reactor and WMO filter setup so that I can drive the deuce out to get em.
I might have to post some pictures of the green hardware we have on campus.:driver:
