Yeah it seems to run fine. Just trying to get a feel for motor condition before I go about putting money into it, and the plan is to install a turbo so I want to make sure everything is intact beforehand.
I performed a compression test on my 6.2 today and got the following results.
1- 395
2-390
3-335
4-410
5-345
6-400
7-390
8-390
Cylinders 3 and 5 are low and below the spec of 380psi. I retested those cylinders twice to confirm as well. My question is, is there any way to narrow down the cause...
I’d clean the threads first. I know mine were full of crap and it took a lot of oil and slowly working the bolt in and out when I had the t-case on the bench to clean the dirt out. From your pic looks like yours is pretty dirty too.
And yep just against the outside of the bell housing. I got a...
They are indeed m16-2.0 bolts and I used 35 mm long ones. I guess I am confused on what plate you’re referring to on the engine, the other end of the support rod bolts to the bell housing/motor with the bell housing bolt.
Great idea, so you'd say this replacement steering shaft was worth it and helped removed some of the slop in the steering? So far I've changed everything steering related from the steering box to the kingpins and don't have any issues with handling but more of a firm feel would be nice.
Cannot speak to quality on any of these yet, but from badger diesel the injectors are $145 a set plus core. I’ve seen them recommended on here a few times so for the price savings it’s worth a shot. I’ll be getting some over winter when I change my injectors.
Yeah I just have the 2 behind the seat, but was eventually going to add some to the dash or the doors as well. Got the behind the seat brackets from LMC for 4x12” speakers, but they didn’t fit perfect and involved some trimming of the bracket. They sound pretty good but would probably go with...
Great info! A couple quick questions on your setup.
What compressor did you end up going with?
And the crank and water pump pulleys, do you have part numbers or where you obtained those from?
I used a piggy back on the 25A wiper fuse so the radio operates on accessory but I can’t see why the ignition power wouldn’t work as well. Constant 12V from the under hood wire block and grounded above the parking brake on that (after cleaning). I don’t have any issues with radio operation. I’m...
So far during the week I’ve worked through one of the few minor electrical gremlins that have made an appearance. When turning on the blower motor the gen 1 light started coming on. I read through the many posts in here on potential issues but thankfully it ended up being the easiest one. The...
I’m not sure if that intake tube was standard on cucv’s, but I’ve seen them on civilian 6.2’s and there was a resonator in line as well. They’re somewhat rare but I occasionally see them on eBay. I’ve also seen custom ones made from gutter downspouts.
It may help quiet some of the drone...
I’m guessing your 454 setup is 12 volt right? That should open up your options a lot as you can scavenge parts from almost any big block vehicle with AC, not have to find 6.2 specific ones.
So it turns out the new vent seals didn’t do the job. So I bought a different set. And those didn’t help either. The hinge side of the window for some reason isn’t close enough to the seal so air gets through and causes an annoying whistle while driving. So I pulled apart the window again and...
That does bring up a good point on tire size for the spare which I still need to look into. I’m not lifting the truck but do plan on putting slightly larger rims/tires on (~32.5”s). With the Detroit in the rear, is that tire size discrepancy enough that if I used the original tire/rim as a spare...
