    Steelsoldiers’ BIG M756A2 Project!

Recovery Day! Well, we did it! We recovered the M756A2 today! My brother, Chad, and my dad helped me load a ton of tools, fluids, etc... in the pickup this morning and then we headed out to the storage yard where the pipeline truck has been sitting for the last 16 years. We last had the truck...

CANCELED: SS/MVPA Rally at Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area

I reserved six camping spots at Trailhead this morning. Five of them are smaller spots and one is a large group spot. They are marked in blue on the attached map. They are all right next to each other and are located right next to the access road to AOAA. That should give us room for 20-25...

CANCELED: SS/MVPA Rally at Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to use your M35A2 at AOAA because it’s a soft top truck. I know it seems silly because it’s not like a hard top would save you if you flipped it, but that’s the rule. Your HMMWV would be fine as long as the factory B-pillar “roll bar” is installed. Hope you will...

The Steel Soldiers Store is now online! Get your SS Gear today!

I ordered a couple of t-shirts last Thursday for me and my brother. They showed up on Tuesday, so I was pleased with the order fulfillment speed. The tees are Hanes tagless, and are nice and heavy duty for wrenching on MV’s or just wearing around town. To get some 20th Anniversary gear of your...

    M939 series?

Everything you need to know is in the -10 manual. It lists all of the model numbers and even has drawings of all of the them. There’s a ton of other info in there and it is required reading for all owners of M939 trucks. https://www.dropbox.com/s/lkhvv9xs8j71cqc/9-2320-272-10.pdf?dl=0

    Steelsoldiers’ BIG M756A2 Project!

Cool! Next time you see him, ask if he has any pictures of his old truck. It would be really neat to find a guy who used to operate this truck back in the day.

How to make a m923a2 Quieter in the Cab

Well, I would start shopping for a comm system. I don’t think any amount of insulation, noise deadening material, etc... will be enough to overcome the exhaust stack right next to the cab, the roar of six big super-single tires, and the clattering/whistling Cummins on the other side of the firewall.

    Steelsoldiers’ BIG M756A2 Project!

Love the vintage pics. Thanks for posting, Jon. I didn’t realize the Seabees used so many pipeline trucks, but it makes sense if you think about it. That’s really cool that Keith’s is so close numerically to mine. I wonder if they were attached to the same unit at some point?

    Steelsoldiers’ BIG M756A2 Project!

Check out the brass Navy data plate for this truck. I’m wondering, given the scarcity of these pipeline trucks, if this was one of the only examples registered by the USN. Have any of you guys seen another Navy M756A2?
