Gary,
I was glad you were able to join us this year again. Please plan on that again next year. We will be trying to get all the Albany boys back in for next year.

you should be able to TIG weld to the broken tool. I usually use a washer that matches the piece I want to weld to. I then weld a nut to the washer. The heat of welding will help to free up the broken part. With TIG welding you have excellent control of where you are welding. Just my thoughts...
Ok we got the transmission out got new seal in housing should be putting it back together Friday. the pilot bushing didn’t look too good so replacing that while we are there.
update all back together ready to roll
Well our shakedown run yesterday went south. One truck developed a rear main oil leak we have to correct. I guess its best it happened now vs on the road. Nothing but some work we will get it done. Isn't this fun? My fun meter is about pegged out...
Ok the Albany Ga boys are getting ready for the Rally. We got 3 trucks heading up Thur morning. We will be in our normal place Kay’s Keep. Look for the fire pit. It will be good to get out this year has been tough.

If I remember correctly you will have to pull the retainer housing the seal mounts from the inside. You will need to drain the oil first. Make sure you seal the bolt threads they go thru the case and can leak oil if you don’t.
Steve 6X6X6 made a run of 4 input retainers with a seal. They were fully machined out of a weldment he did and were very nice. I managed to buy one and use it on my truck. He said there was not much interest in them and he has not made any more that I know of. That's sad as these were very well...
I have picked up there many times they are very accommodating. They will usually help you load and let you do work within reason there. They will pull the vehicle out front where you pull in. If its a HMMVW they usually pick those up with a fork lift probably will load it for you.
Having the filter on the suction side will usually restrict the flow. I my opinion its better to use a type of screen to stop larger debris and put the filter on the pressure side. I would put 2 filters in series a 10 micron water separator followed by a 5 micron final.
Pull the mushroom air intake cap and have someone standby with a board to block the air intake in case of a run away condition. If the shutoff lever has an issue it could take the engine to full throttle.
