This is great! Watching even the video of it running is great for knowing what the one I might be scoring for free/cheap might be like. It'll be a bit of a project to get running, probably a similar situation to this one.
I thought the few that sold in like July were A1 versions though?
Re: 924/926, I thought they existed on paper like that but were never actually produced? Anyone know of/have one? (If it was, it must be not terribly common).
98G and I were texting back and forth and came to that conclusion too. M814 was the M809 version of the M927, like the M927 is the 'long' M923.
I've never seen a 924 or 926 despite them being mentioned in the TMs, what are they?
Just curious, anyone know much about M942A2s, especially their commonality or lack thereof? I'm curious if anyone knew how many were produced? (I know there were like only 500 of the M927/M928 produced, a close
Oh, and just to clarify for anyone scratching their head thinking what on EARTH is...
I'm looking at bidding on an M942A2 (basically a M928A2 sans bed with an aftermarket flatbed/crane added) on GovPlanet in the September 13th auction.
It's in Tuscon, Arizona.
Anyone near there have any interest in picking it up and storing it for some length of time, preferably the closer the...

Yeah, I'm aware of the single circuit brake system and how inherently sketchy those are known to be. Other people have already suggested I put M939 series axles/air brakes under it. I had my introduction to driving a manual in a Deuce with no brakes.
Yeah, my...
Admin/mod, can you please remove the accidental double attachment? (leaving just one). I can't seem to figure out how to do that. Thanks in advance! (I imagine it takes up extra space on the site's servers).
Now for one of my own photos, albeit hastily taken through a car windshield while briefly driven there, while he was turning the car around. This was yesterday, not in 2011, so note it moved:
I looked on Google Streetview, never updated since 2011 in that area, and lo and behold, it was there, in the driveway of the house directly behind where we lived. It's since been moved to an adjacent piece of property he doesn't own so it's moved at least once since then.
While back in Sitka, AK visiting an old neighbor (street I spent part of my childhood on) I was anecdotally relating how I'd considered daily driving a 50 year old Deuce and a Half on alternative fuels. "I know where a Deuce and a Half dump truck is" he says. Drives me over to look at it, and...
OK, can someone tell me more about the M917 dump? Slippery slope as MC's are, I've decided one of these days I just gotta have one. Personal experience? Specs? Their typical quirks?
