I know this is an older post but I took some pics of my MEP18A hold downs.
Hope this helps you out Bjorn. If I can't get my genset running I may sell them too you.
Check the -34P. Since it seems you are military Rich I figure you will know what that means. The manuals are available for download by clicking on Technical Manuals under the Resource tab.
The thing comes with two 100 amp alternators already. I have not seen any extra amp alt for the Cucv. The civilian models are isolated ground units but they are GM alternators. I think the ambulance has a Leece Nevelle (sp) 100 amp 24 volt military style alternator but that is because of the air...
I really don't know where to start on this one. For one you still had 24 volts going to the starter solenoid unless you changed that also. This might have been what caught the starter on fire. I am not sure exactly what you did moving the glow plug wire. Are you saying you attached the glow plug...
The unit can go bad without taking out the master so I would say just replace the unit. Then you do not have to bleed the brakes. If you see evidence that your master is bad then get it as a unit but only if you see something wrong with the master cylinder.
That is pretty much what I figured. The gap was probably not adjusted right and it burned off at an angle. I will have to post a pick. I had never seen points burned like this.
Just to be clear. The point surfaces are flat but at an angle instead of being an exact 90 degree right angle. It is...
I finally got around to working on getting my MEP018A gensets working. I only got them about 4 years ago or so. I have two on a M103 trailer so I started with the rear one. I have new carbs I bought a couple of years ago so I am just throwing them on. I also put acid in my 4hn battery I got a...
I had the starter stick on me Saturday night. I was on the way back from Motor Muster at Henry Ford when I stopped for fuel around 9pm. I joked with the kids. I asked which one was going to call mom and tell her to bring the towbar and the F-350. A couple of seconds after this I pushed in the...
My muffler connections are 2 1/2" ID making the actual exhaust pipes 2 1/2 OD. The actual dimensions vary widely on a stock truck. The exhaust pipe necks down for about 6 inches right after the flange and it looks like it goes down to 2 1/4 but I have not measured. I am putting on new exhaust...
Not trying to wedge my way into an argument but there is a search function on the classified page. Look to the left below where you choose what classified sub heading. A search for "900 parts" brings up your ad.
I did not think they were 220 but I did not look real close. We had them for our FDC in when I was in the Field Artillery. I think we had the AC and the DC sets to run the computers and the radios. We bought some gensets on the economy in Saudi Arabia to supplement for out entertainment tent and...
