Yeah that would be nice. I’m sure it’s been done. There are a lot of high dollar 855s out there. I’ve seen balanced 5.9s and it’s a night and day difference.
Mine idled at 550. I turned it up to about 600 and planning on going to 650-700. Everything outside rattled at 550 and some of it still does at 600. You don’t need a special tool. Just can’t do it while it’s running. Go for a drive between adjustments to get the air out.
You’re likely sucking air somewhere. Go back over what you have done. This thread is over 5 years old. May want to start a new one for your issue. Good bit of bad/misleading info in this thread anyway....
If you looked at an a0/a1 truck right beside an a2 you’d see how huge the differences will be.
A&H recon shop in MA is who built the a2 I saw. The guy recently had it for sale on fb and the ad said he paid $10,000 to have the 8ll put in.
I feel like my 855 is a beast now that I have a turbo and fuel button. RR is always the way to go! I just can’t stand automatics because they tend to be unreliable. My 923a2 was the first automatic I’ve ever owned and it literally lasted me a week before it turned into a 3 speed.
Like @simp5782 said, yours will be totally different with the 8.3. I believe you’ll need a different flywheel housing/engine mounts as well. I saw an a2 with an 8ll and they also swapped to an a0 style front driveshaft with the carrier bearing. It has been done though.
I only have a 17 fuel button but mine doesn’t smoke at all. By the time rail pressure gets up the turbo is spooled. I’m no pt pump expert but I don’t think an afc is needed without bigger injectors....
Based on the picture it’s not reverse rotation. But looks like he got it hooked up. At this point an appropriately sized standard rotation turbo would probably be easier to swap. Maybe some BW s400 variant similar to ht3b specs?? Hard to say what the most cost effective option is....
The turbo is far too big if it really is 100mm. The intercooler isn’t hurting anything. Probably not helping but it’s not hurting. More fuel will likely just make it run hotter. There is a problem that should be fixed. First I’d try it without the air filter. If that doesn’t help I’d figure out...
I added an ht3b turbo to mine and noticed no difference in power, though I’m sure there was a reduction in egt. I didn’t have a gauge before I put the turbo on. With stock fuel I made about 9 psi and egt would not go over 800. My stock rail pressure was about 150. I swapped the fuel button (#35)...
I wish! I still have my a0 truck. I bought them as a package so I could sell one and wind up with a cheap one. Then a week later the trans went out on the a2 🤬
The part number on the tag on it says FC367E. The parts manual shows FC212000.
From looking at the manual, the o rings and friction disc are the same but not the bearings.
This is in reference to an nhc250 fan clutch. Internals may be the same for the 8.3, I don’t know.
I searched and searched and couldn’t find any information on this. The parts manual diagram looks like Chinese when you haven’t had it apart yet. And the kits are way overpriced. This cost just...
