In my opinion cid is less important than air volume or in other words torque produced. Engines are air pumps and they all have different efficiency percentages but the main factor to look at is volume. We should never have a issue with the hx being to small as they can flow more air volume...
The hx35 turbos being sold on Amazon and ebay as upgrade for the 5.9 should bolt right up as they are the same sized flange. I plan on getting one to try out but there are a couple other priorities I need to address first.
The only way to know if you are running to hot is with a pyrometer. But if you are concerned you can easily turn it down. The non turbo trucks are known for smoking
The while you are there’s will drain your bank account real quick with these trucks. Saying wheel bearings are wear items and should be replaced when showing no signs of wear is like saying you replace your headlights every night because they were used.
I would change all fluids and filters...
I would try to bleed them where the hard line attaches to the injectors but you may want to hear from someone more knowledgeable than me before you try that.
It is simply convenient more than anything. It takes time to put the truck up on cribbing and the lift will get the truck in the air in about half of a minute.
I wonder if you still have air in the system from when you replaced the injectors. Or if the new injectors are possibly faulty. Did I understand properly that the new to you set of used injectors did not pass pop test
From what I understand you don’t really need to be concerned about egt on a non turbo truck. But what you will want to deal with is the amount of smoke it makes. If you see a ton of smoke turn it down unless you are in to that.
I am not exactly a lightweight 5,9 at 240 and have no problem with the factory position of the wheel. Honestly I like it on the closer side for many reasons. One is that it is easier to steer being close and if you move it away you are just going to lean forward to grab it anyway. Pay attention...
if I ever have the heads off of mine I am going to get them (o-ring’d) the machine shop will machine a small o-ring grove in the head where you can put a piece of piano wire in it. The wire increases the clamping force at the most critical sealing area without the need for different head bolts...
The part I find annoying is the people that have fields full of them from when they were going for nothing at auction but would rather let them rot than let someone get a deal.
Don’t be concerned about the wheel chatter no one has provided proof that it is unsafe to run bigger tires on the stock wheels. They will point out that the manufacture recommends a wider wheel for the larger tires but can not provide any reasoning for this recommendation. And the chatter about...
I will say I don’t agree with the way he destroys things but it is not all bad he is a successful businessman that is a net contributor to society unlike so many that are in for a free ride from the government. How many times have we heard the explosion work hard and play hard. Usually people...
The exact length is not that big of a deal. If they are a couple inches shorter than original the only problem will be that the tray doesn’t slide out as far. And if a couple inches to long it will slide out a little further. When I replaced my batteries I got a deal on a set that had the...
