The Austin Western beds have a goofy "ermetto" (I think) thread fitting. All of the hoses I've had burst on my truck, I've had braised onto standard hose fittings so I can use cheap hoses instead of $$$$$ hoses!
A ghetto cure for the 3-4 gap is to start in low range Tcase, run through the gears(1 through 5), shift to high range and use 4 then 5. Its not the greatest, but works ok.
I have had to pull my batts out and charge them individually. I don't think the charger built-in is very good. Once things are in place and working, make sure they don't get drained!
I have a battery equalizer if you want to run 12v stuff. It allows you to run 12v off one battery and not kill your system(PM if interested).

I have run my deuce with an LMTV cargo cover. One time I ran with the sides and rear in the raised position and the top of the cover separated at the seams. I will not make that mistake again!
I have seen and driven that A3 in Indiana, its a good truck! I'd be torn between the A2 and A3 only cause the A3 has no overdrive.

If you decide you want some spare secondary filters, I have them with the correct gaskets for $5 each plus shipping. Might have some new injectors too, will advise.

Well, the A3 has stronger springs than the A2, but whatever.
OP, I would pull the bottom 3 or 4 springs and see how the ride is for you. You could try counting how many are in the pack and pulling half depending on your idea of ride quality. It just takes time to get it right.
