I have personally put a turbo on 2 different trucks without changing the timing and they ran great. Could you post a link to the threads that the trucks didn't run well?
These motors have a high comp ratio, I don't think 25psi would be a good idear, but I've only run a pyro, not a boost gauge...
Yes Kenny, a 939 case can go in place of an older unit. We did this on Opcom's 818 that we installed a M109 box on. That was the discovery that the 939 Tcases had overdrive in high range.
The dual thermostat isn't worth your time. Lots of guys swap back over to the single stat. Look at the diesel place and leroydiesel to see if its right for you. I am converting my dual stat 6.5 to single to put a db2 pump on it. Sick of the ds4 electronic gremlins.
Might sell mine if you...
Also, I have a guy near me that needs an M35 fuel tank. I told him an A3 tank would be aluminum and a better option, but I'm not sure if they have an intank fuel pump like stock. Anyone have something available?
I'm working tonight and tomorrow night, but have info on stainless bolts and bushings when I'm off wed/thurs. The info has been posted by devilman if you feel like searching for it.
First thing I would check is, if its getting air at all. There is a pressure protection valve that will not pass air to the system, until you have 60psi(minimum) in your tanks. Next step, take the lines off the air cyl and see if they get air from the steering link.
As always, BE EXTREMELY...
Either the 395s or the 1100 equivalent, I can't remember the size offhand. The 395s do give you back the road speed you lose not having an overdrive trans though.
