Optima Red
I have them in everything except my M1008A1 and it has a new set of Hawkers.
Just installed an Optima Red in a mint 1998 Suburban K1500 I just picked up.
Have Optima Blue in my Airstream.
Optima makes an adapter plate that has the same footprint as the Hawkers and also elevates it...
Post in the parts wanted forum for the crank handle.
One will turn up most likely.
If not, I can send pictures of mine so you can fabricate one.
They didn’t make a ton of these so it might take a while to show up.
I would stop using it until the fluid and filter are changed.
See if any surprises are at the bottom of the pan and fluid color and smell.
Clearly something is wrong.
Could be as simple as it was low on fluid and needed a filter change.

These transmissions are...
Installed new shoes.
Cooper AT3s
They hold up extremely well to rocks and gravel, which I drive on daily.

Kingpins are still nice and tight
Greased front end.
Also replaced a seeping injector return line...
Mine is used for much more than I ever thought it would be.

I use Mobil 1 Motor Oil 10-40w and Wix filters on everything I own.
Everyone has their own personal preference.

Yes You can remove the hub assembly and work on it that way.
I left mine on. Made it easier for me knowing it wasn’t going anywhere while banging on it
Heat, Liquid Wrench and lots of...
1 wheel or 2, use lots of lube and anti-seize to make your life easier.
No such thing as too much.
On my M149A1-2 water trailer, the large single wheel Jack was initially a pain to pull up into the stowed position.
It was straight and would roll fine, but wouldn’t turn side to side.
Typical...
I would love to have the three other size machines but that will probably never happen.
I had been looking for the 1” machine at a decent price for years.
1” is the size I need most often.
It is nice to be able to make them now.
