If you are using the old shaft make sure you mark the drive shaft to pinion so it goes back on with the same orientation. If the drive shaft is out of phase (180 degrees) it can cause a vibration. Have seen this problem with a Nissan frontier truck just a month ago.

Old? The Humvees are not old. They are just mature that's all lol. I drove many cars with powerglide 2 speeds back in the day and we got around just fine.

Only issue with all black is you have zero contrast with black on black on black. Makes the truck look less finished IMHO but still nice. Keep up updated.

If you have four batteries and believe one is pulling a tiny load I would electrically disconnect all the batteries and let them sit for a day or two and more than likely
the one with noticeably less voltage is your heat sink problem battery.
