    Ton rating

My SF97 states 10,000 lbs. Maybe it's wrong, but it's officially wrong if that's the case. Wish I could find something official like that. Nothing on the paperwork and the plates.

What, all of them? I did mention that between 2 humvees the GVWR varies by 5500 lbs. 1 1/4 ton would certainly make sense for the M1114 which has a GVWR of 15,500 lbs and weights 7,700 lbs giving it a payload of 7,800 lbs. This is far higher than the M1097R1's 4,400 lbs.

    Ton rating

Riddle me this: My M1097R1 has a GVWR of 10,000 (per SF97), truck weight 5,600 lbs, carrying capacity 4,400 lbs. I don't have the slant back on my truck and it just looks like a 4 door pickup. According to Wikipedia, this would make it a 3/4 ton. According to this random equipment site I...

    PULL OUT CAMPER STAIRCASE

The Harbor Freight ramps are still around, up to $84, but a good source for stair treads. Would go well with the Pylex stringers. These are available on Amazon in steel only, however, Home Depot also sells them much cheaper.

It seems like anything I get will require modification. These will be mounted on the side of the truck and I would have to rig something up to put the steps inside then hang them when in use. They are light. I remember looking at these when I first started looking, maybe I should add these...

New program to rid of non runners from govplanet.

When I spoke to GovPlanet about why WA processes so much faster than CA, I was told they were handled differently. I am speaking from my experience. My 1097 I got in WA, and the EUC processed in about a day, I didn't even notice any lag. However, my 1114 I'm still waiting for the EUC approval...

New program to rid of non runners from govplanet.

In WA my EUC turnaround was about a day. In CA I'm told it's 30 to 60. Then again, WA auctions off maybe 10/month. I also feel that $5k for non-runners might be high, it really depends on what's wrong and what other extras are on them.

Unfortunately, the stairs in the drawing are out - they're made for concert stages and are just too wide. Right now I'm mulling over 2 options: Aluminum stairs, would remove the railing to save some weight, or stringers. Found the stringers on Amazon, they go to 60.5" height and are available...

Does anyone know where I can find the tailgate strap panel

Sorry, I didn't mean to suggest it was. Post #20 included a rear shot of my truck that wasn't posted by me. That's what I was referring to in my post#24.

    Have you seen the front?

First car show of the year!! (Peoples Choice Award)

Nice display! Maybe throw a proton power pack in the front seat and see if anyone notices :)

So if you were going to get a parts truck and . . .

I just won one at auction. It's pretty banged up but I was in the market for a transmission. I got a few items as a bonus that I'll be adding to mine. Feeling a little like a Borg. Will also get one of the wheels w/tire to use as a spare. If I had a big place to store parts and lots of...

    I won't be there. I'm about 1300 miles away.

Some pics from the auction. A face only a mother could love. Btw, no steering wheel. I'm having to rent a forklift just so I can get it off the carrier.

Wanting to start a new HMMWV business. Need your help.

Currently, GovPlanet is releasing the vehicles. I bought a M1097 2 months ago in WA and was able to pick it up 5 days later, and I just recently won a M1114 (for parts) from Yermo and the auction clearly states I have 8 business days to pick up or incur storage fees. But, the SF97's will still...

    Introduction & a warning

Just bought a parts vehicle, 2005 M1114. I plan to strip the transmission (and other sundry parts) for my M1097. Pull the wheels/tires for spares, maybe some other parts. Sell the slant back pieces, maybe some other stuff and scrap the rest so it won't be in my possession long...hopefully...

    M35A2 expedition mini home

Put 50% down, finalized the dimensions and ordered the fuel tanks. Should take 1-2 months. Each tank works out to be about 45 gallons. Though, I'll be lucky to get 40 gallons of use considering the surface area & how shallow they are. This is one of my latter floor layouts, though I've...

How do you secure your vehicle at shows? Armor hatches - Safety related

I guess I've been lucky. I've been to several shows in small towns/cities and never had a problem. I tell kids crawling inside not to touch anything on the dash (they can grab the steering wheel). No one's ever turned on the power switch which would sound the audible alarm for the air tanks...
