    Fuel consumption and top speed

    NH250 typically gets 5.5mpg. Loaded or empty, doesn't matter. 809series or 939series. NH250 + turbo gets about 7.5mpg.

Be a bit more subtle and call it the "collapsar" or "hypermass" or "singularity"

    Gov Planet used parts

The bad ones frequently go into the crate that the good ones came out of. Just like with engine shipping containers. "Bad" may be relative. The military may swap out a dented one for one without dents. Or it could be full of nasties. Or have holes. Caveat Emptor....

24% is what I come up with as well.

    Lug Nuts Way Overtorqued (!)

Lock ring rims aren't the same as the old widowmaker split rims.

    Fuel consumption and top speed

I find it implausible that you are burning that much fuel. I suspect a leak.

Have your CAT had its Asphaltene today???

Apparently it happens in oil wells also. The flowing liquid suddenly turns into a solid black crayon.

    Lug Nuts Way Overtorqued (!)

What you want is a geared lug wrench. They break anything loose, and without the jerk as it lets go.

Since I've completely hijacked SIGO's jeep transport thread with off topic trailer discussion, let me further pollute it with pictures of the 2x12 PT wood deck I've got almost complete... This is the 16k trailer. 16x6' usable deck space. The 19,800lbs trailer is going to get 3/16" plate.

"When it was wet out.." makes all the difference. Your idea actually has merit. I may implement it. My trailer will probably rarely be walked on or driven on and will mostly be loaded from the sides using a forklift and palletized items. Having sand available 'just in case' is likely the...

Dry sand on dry steel is also slick by the way. Extremely so. A handful of sand in a 5ton bed makes it dangerous to walk on.

To blast or not .. and then what. Professional advice sought

I've got a bare steel welding table that sits outside in the weather in KS. It's rusty of course. About 3 years ago I spent about a minute with a powered wire brush knocking the worst of the rust off a small patch of it and then shot it with that rustoleum rust converter with no further prep...

NHC250/M939A1 No oil pressure on startup

While it bothers me also, I think we're worried without cause. These were million mile engines in over the road usage for decades. If it were really a problem, someone would have addressed it by now. One solution would be to have an electric oil pump to pressurize the oil prior to starting...

I welcome any suggestions you may have. Slipperiness entered my considerations. Diamond plate would offset this to some extent, but I've got plain 3/16 plate lined up at $120 per 4x8 sheet. I thought to offset this by bedlining it with sand added to the bedliner. Or maybe black diamond...

After agonizing over the decision for weeks, I came to the same conclusion as you - I'm just going to use PT wood from the local lumber supplier. I got a 2nd similar trailer. The 2nd one is rated 19,800. I'm thinking I'm just going to use 3/16" steel plate for the deck on that one.
