For a 3 speed you should have been able to get it up to 55 or 60 without screaming. Maybe its not shifting into 3rd. Sometimes its hard to feel the shift points. Also, the gauges are notoriously inaccurate. Not sure about restricted airflow behavior.
Nope, no troubles last month. Clear SF-97 for a 2001 HMMWV. The only question was the validity of the SF-97 re-assignment, which was cleared up fine by a supervisor.
This is a complex issue, so please look out for the pitfalls and unintended consequences of any such legislation. I've been looking at this for some time, have talked with many local and national advocates and I am willing to offer input and assistance.
As I understand it from the other thread, https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?176588-Bad-Bill-for-Title-Military-Surplus-Off-Road-Moves-to-Virginia-Senate , the real problem is going to be with the Virginia State Police and how they mandate inspections going forward.
Not that it matters, I just want to point out that the Marine Corps GP HMMWV's are sold without the ORUO restriction, which is why I only buy the former Marine Corps Humvees. There is no "Off Road Use Only" stamp on the SF97, its just the standard, unrestricted form.
I did get up to 80 once in one of my A2's. It was only for a short duration and the truck did not protest, but the rotating mass of tires and runflats could have definitely benefited from a set of Centramatics. I'm with everyone else though, much more fun and so much safer to move a "profiling"...
I have to say that after a bit of an extended wait on the Marine Corps EUC clearance, GP got the SF97 and the dealer reassignment to me within 2 weeks. Super fast in my opinion. MVA accepted everything for the title work and the whole deal has gone as smoothly as anyone could hope from start to...
Hey Norm. Yeah, we are at 14 degrees a bit north of you, and my 6.5's crank and start fine with no block warmer. I'm quite amazed actually. Other than a bit more initial clattering, all normal. Hope its just a bad battery for you..
Just got my clearance (2nd in a year) Tuesday on a USMC unit from August, so a bit over 4 months for me. But I think that's rare. Most seem to clear sooner.
