Thanks for the link. I never came across that in my searches for things to do before swapping. Luckily I put air to it just to listen and watch before install and I even pulled that cap to have a look. All looked nice, clean and acted functional.
I took this item off my other tcase because the one on the air case was froze up.. tried cleaning and lubing but the gear inside would not move. Also, the one that came on the air tcase had an added grease zero.. not sure why. Isn't this oil fed? The o ring in the coupler from hose fell out...
So far this thing has been golden for the past 2 years. Even using the 1/2''-3/4'' adapter it still breaks large bolts free. Still amazed. I borrowed a friend 1'' ingersoll air the other day and quit using it and went back to the battery makita. Lots of different models out there for each...
Swapped transfer cases, from a sprag to air. Glad to have that done. Easy job if you use a engine hoist and a couple come-a-longs. I also had the bed off so that made it easier as well.
Lockers installed in both rear axles, all seals replaced and new brake cylinders. New to me air T-case installed took 3 tries with little mistakes... ugh

T-case is removed. try and install other one tomorrow. Removed primary fuel filter it was NASTY inside. Got my title/registration today.
A part that was broken at some point in its future life.
Does anything go between the frame and spring packs on rear axles? refer to picture...
never mind I figured it out.. tried to delete this post ...
Thanks,
Started on rear axles today. I watched video's yesterday and took my time today after finally getting all my lubes and cleaning supplies organized I got started. Replaced the brake cylinders, cleaned the bearings and getting items ready for install tomorrow. Both rear axles had clean gear...
Probably. He was talking about clearing everything out and moving to his other property. He has been at it for a long time and probably just ready to relax since times have changed all around his place.
Thank for the info. Air pressure seems to build fast and have not noticed any issues. I will keep an eye on the drains and see if it gets worse, better, or the same. The winch was a big bonus for sure.
