Hood rod...I didn't think of that, but that would be nice too. At least if work needs to be done, no parts to remove, but easy to keep open if just doing simple fluid checks and some visual pm.
Would you make one to go on the inside of the hood, or the outside?
There was a fella who had a plastic battery box in the classifieds, fall cleanup I believe, but he wasn't shipping anything.
I see you got the steel battery box too. Mine is all rusted out, I'm surprised the batteries aren't falling out! 😆 I put a sheet of steel at the bottom so it'll distribute...
Have you looked into those strut kits that will help lift the hood and hold it up? I don't remember who it that was making them but they aren't making them anymore unless I'm unaware of it. I think that would be a handy piece of kit on any deuce or five ton.
When my delivery valve bolt (that's the star pattern bolt sticking out of the HH) got a crack in it, I emailed TNJ Murray, Eric's Surplus, Eastern Surplus, and few others. TNJ Murray are the ones who got a hold of me and found one as these don't seem to be a common thing, lol. If that Allen...
I gotta change the oil in mine, but I finished winterizing my deuce. If it's gonna be as bad as they are saying, I wanna be ready, lol. I got my battery warmers installed and I installed my oil pan warmer today. I could've done better with the silicone but I was kinda in a hurry.
Trying to find the five ton air cleaners aren't easy either, and the few I did find, the shipping quotes were insane. The thought of buying a big rig filter housing like one from an international or mack seemed like a good idea, fabricating a bracket so it fits and bolts to the fender and then...
I need to add one of these too, especially if the wife and I decide to get a camper next year, most campers will be too big and heavy for my Dakota, at least the ones we've been thinking about, which is the non foldable 12-14' campers.
There was a filter that Tactical Repair recommended, but I noticed it's discontinued now. As I would search for others like it, none of the manufacturers would give a cfm rating. For the time being I've been sticking with the stock filters, have two of them so I'll wash one and dry it out...
I had a brake job once that the brake lines had a hole in them. This was on a pick up, but the nut on the metal line from the brake cylinder to the main line was frozen. Since that line had to be replaced, I cut it off at the nut and the new line came with a nut on it, so I was able to put a...
I haven't tried on my MV, but I have done it to rifles before to protect the paint job and it turned out good until what was on the barrel burned, then it didn't look so good, lol.
If you use it, then you have to sand it off before you can ever repaint the vehicle again as fresh paint will...
I think everybody had a good idea as what to check and what to do. As Rusty said, you want to use gas to thin your wmo. Add a little bit of diesel, which helps it blend in, but mostly gas.
I would replace the thermostat or at least another one anyways, they do go bad after a while and it's...
