Go to the TM section and download the TM # that is listed at the top in the picture. Page 212 is where it starts for lights and wipers. This should be a good place to start.
Head scratcher...
From the TM, it shows what wire is which. If it's hooked up correctly, still doesn't work and it did work normal before, either there's a bad wire, or the lights are not supported. I would make sure #17, 18, and 91 are in the correct plugs behind the bucket. 17 is high beam, 18...

I just bought a 24v charger off Amazon. Paid $400. Amazon
My rig will have to be jump started to get it off the truck when it arrives so I got this as I am not familiar with the ins and outs of 24v. Already have one 12v noco for my other...
I've wondered about that too. The elements are sealed in the pads, but that is indeed a chance, plugging anything electrical into the deuce could short out and cause a fire. In that case, I think quality and workmanship of said product should be important.
An old thread but it's the first one that pops up when you search winterizing the deuce and artic kits.
I have ran a cardboard front before and while it works, it works until it's soggy then it degrades very quickly.
I made a new piece that was painted and then applied that water repellent...
I think the price will vary. It's hard to say without a back story on that specific truck. If it just sat for 20 years, that's something completely different than something that was running and there was a large pop that killed the engine so here it sat ever since.
If the truck is in good...
Especially for deuce owners, many of us experience a drive in the rain. The windows tend to leak around the seals and the windshield wiper arm that then runs down the inside of the window. Then comes the fog and if it's hot out, we're not going to turn the heater on.
Two things make this easier...
Imo, steering is the same as far as manual steering goes. It's still a pita when stopped or moving really really slow. I think it handles better at speed as well, but YMMV.
You have to upgrade your membership ship in order to post in the classifieds and a few other forums. I think it's like $10-15 for the year. When you do it'll say Steel Soldiers supporter to the right of your username.
So that more less acts like a manual with a torque converter. Would that be why I've seen some videos where guys stall the A3 out at low speeds or trying to climb a hill? I never realized that tranny would let you lock a gear in like that.
I thought I heard a "cha-chink" in the first video while reversing in the beginning. It didn't look like there was a bump or anything.
Bad U-joints can make sounds like that. Once the needle bearings fail, there will be play in the joint and can cause a cha-chink type of sound. Sometimes you...
I was just down in OH a couple weeks ago. A video would definitely help. I'm sure some new noises developed since sitting, probably just things that need to be lubricated and rusty surfaces. If you get the truck to make it's "pop" sound on video, I would also describe if you feel it and if so...
Looks like that humvee is in decent shape, at least it's not all pulled apart. The vette is gorgeous! When you get that humvee and restore it, dropping your son off at school or letting him drive it occasionally, y'all be like the cool kids on the block! Lol
In the TM, I do believe it's either 1 or 1.5" off the floor for minimal height. Any closer the brake system needs to be serviced. My brakes were touchy at first. With almost 9k miles later, the pedal travels a bit now, but it's still about 2" off the floor and that's a hard stop.
That's interesting to know. I have never been in,rode in, or driven an A3. I'd like to own an A3, but I like my multi-fuels so that's why I have yet to purchase one, but I'm hoping some day, I will.
That's the one thing I appreciate about the manual trans, down shifting and letting the engine and trans slow the truck down instead of using brakes. That even worked on m old deuce with NDT tires, it didn't slip or go into a slide but the second I touched the brakes, I was on ice skates.
