Thanks to everyone that contributed to this thread. I will be using the magnetic trailer lights when I go to pick it up. I always had that in the back of my mind as the likely solution, but I figured that eventually I would be modifying the trailer wiring so I could tow it with a civilian truck...

Also do you know if there are civi equivalent bulbs, from the parts manual I see W-L-00111/60, MS35478-1073, and MS15570-89 part numbers. When I search on these they appear to be available from walmart, amazon, ebay and others but seem pricey.

Turning the valve off does not help, it still bubbles out through the reservoir. If I remove it entirely, that could solve the issue with the air leak. Depending on the expense of the alternatives that maybe the route I take, but it would likely require more work to get right, than it would take...

From my limited experience, you should pull the alternator and check it out. Like I said before TM 5-2420-224-34 gives instructions on how to test it with a multi meter. After you get that sorted out you can probably remove the hot wire to the starter button, which depending on how it was done...
