Nearly 9 years since the last post, you went deep down the rabbit hole my friend! Good info though, it makes sense. Probably very difficult for the military to spec a fluid that will work in Arctic and desert temps so there are definitely compromises that have to be made. I think the new...
That’s not a Washington title if it says horseless carriage. What state is it from? And do you actually have a title? Start with that info and we’ll go from there. I have successfully registered dozens of deuces and 5 tons in Washington without issue. There are many different options depending...
Have you considered a pto generator? Can go plenty big and load the engine while using a regular alternator for driving.

Check the actuator on the transfer case. It’s been a while since I’ve taken one apart, but there were quite a few that were installed backwards after going through reset. Once you open it up and look at it, it would be pretty easy to tell if it was installed backwards.

Careful when reinstalling the fuel filter if removed. The bolt at the top that holds the canister in place likes to leak and suck air which will cause all sorts of issues.

It’ll be a simple wiring issue or bad batteries. If you have a 24v or 2 12v chargers, let it charge and try. If same issue it’s definitely wiring or connection.

Probably a bad connection or batteries low. If motor spins but both starters have same issue, what is left? Batteries and cables.

Don’t do it unless it’s strictly a mud truck. It was almost unstoppable but had a mind of its own. The steering wheel was a suggestion and the truck may or may not go that way depending on the type of terrain. Air locker would be ideal to use when needed to get unstuck then unlock.

Best upgrades I’ve done to this truck are gear reduction starter, shifter boots, heater, led tail and backup lights.

Negative. Too much work for little gain. Swapped to Delco alternator after the military junker died, new water pump gaskets and belts, fresh sca coolant and pedal to the floor. Biggest improvement this truck could use is a tranny with better ratio. I have one big hill out of the gravel pit and...
Try cracking the bleed port on the master cylinder when it’s locked up. If this has residual pressure, that’s your issue. Mine did this and no amount of flushing, bleeding or adjusting fixed it. Replaced the MC and it worked great.

No additional top gear to unlock. 6cta doesn’t mind spinning a little faster but if you are running NHC 250 keep it under 2,200.

Love the slides! Did something similar on my boat because the Trojan t105’s are in a stupid spot and heavy as hell. M923 bats are next. Hate having them under the seat.

“Rolling Coal” is bad for the engine. It creates excess heat and washes oil off cylinder walls. Be smart and tune it for power. The 6bt is a great engine, no need to shorten its live doing stupid stuff. About as cool as the teens with the import that’s backfiring because they can’t get it tuned...
