And be gentle with the plastic-rubber valve Tee on the side of the injector pump in front of the engine as they are not to robust and split the rubber easily after many years. As Skinny has said the vacuum lines will go soft and some brittle. Check all connections to see if it is just a bad end...

I would use them as the bearing wears the hub will loosen and you will have to keep adjusting the bearings. As for the hardness of the bearing cone it is plenty hard for using alone but it will have some breakin wear plus the bearing will heat up cooking the grease. If you like to keep checking...
