Looks darn good for a "barn find".
Knowing next to nothing about the Continental R6602, how are they to work on? I know they have Holley carbs and there are upgraded Zeniths for these engines. Fuel mileage is apparently a cool 2mpg or so.
Was looking for an exhaust leak after the stink in the cab got worse and and worse. When your eyes water, it's time to check the exhaust! Turns out, the moron that installed the turbo downpipe and flexpipe did not put the washers in. While berating the dude.....myself.....I decided to record a...
Or print a modern engine block layout that LOOKS as close to the old original as can be but has has modern internals? ;-) The best of both worlds...a "Cumminified" multifuel?
It is a slight press fit, so maybe it is corroded on?
Suggest to use penetrating fluid and let sit. Then try again. Put the puller on, put it under tension and tap the pulley gently with a big hammer. Don't go too crazy or you might break the pulley edge off.
If no success, consider heating the...
Shooting from the hip here, but your LDT pistons may not have an oil squirter at all. If they are later production, they will and you are good. If you really want to dive into the (very subtile) differences between LDT and LDS...
Well, that question has come up before: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/deuce-is-there-a-difference-between-lds-and-ld-piston-and-liners.148700/
What I would say is that if you are rebuilding or refreshing the LDT , there is no issue with using six new LDS pistons and liners. If only...
The non-turbo multifuel is becoming somewhat rare. Cool to own one. If, for whatever reason, you absolutely have to have a turbo, it can easily be retrofitted.

@ToddJK I wonder whether what you see is wear of the HH. It simply does better on a higher viscosity fuel such as WMO, but loses too much pressure on the "thinner" fuels.
"This camper looks like a total dump!"
This camper was designed to get teenagers out of bed in the morning.
Modeled after Optimus Snooze in the (imaginary) movie franchise.
This helps keep the camper shell totally level when parking nosedown on a mountain road.
I better stop.....
I think we all go through stages of MV ownership. It always makes me laugh when someone comments on the "size" of the 2 1/2 ton. It is all relative.
A drawback of the Deuce is that the bed is big enough to overload the truck. People are notoriously bad at math. When the book and design specs...
Might be wrong to ask in the thread, but where are we at with replacement injector lines? Still available from the usual suspects or better off going to a Diesel injection shop and have them made?
It seems that, although the steel ferrules are available, generally the success rate of cutting...
You do not mention hard starting and low power, so I assume the injection timing is correct and not 180 degrees out.
Simple things first - what do the fuel filters look like? New primary and secondaries and then re-assess. Yes, the filters can really cause super annoying running and idling...
It could be the lines/fittings. Taking them off, gently cleaning the "mushrooms" with emery cloth, cleaning the seats and replacing/retorquing the lines is a good step one. The lines are torqued to 25 ft lbs max. The center plug could also be leaking, giving the impression of line leaks...
An M35A2 in low range is a terrific vehicle to teach someone how to drive manual transmission. Loud enough to hear what the engine and drive train are doing, enough torque to essentially never stall (and put off the trainee!) and slow enough to be able to concentrate on running five gears...
Most definitely NOT. You do the best you can, like we all do.
Our trucks have ways to kick our butts. That is what they do. It makes us better at troubleshooting and inventing work-arounds!
@biscuitwhistler37 My comment about the dyno was tongue-in-cheek! However, here is what a 200 hp multifuel sounds like! :)
My LDS just after the refresh (new rings, new mains and rod bearings, new heads and valve trains)
