Woo good deal, if you still have good access to it might be a good idea to see if you can find a part number or if not grab input voltage and the ohm range of the pot so we can see if we can find a good replacement on digikey/mouser for future boards also what is the footprint just the standard...
Right but we just simply have to remember we are not in the military anymore where these are meaningless and if an engine dies who cares it is not coming out of my paycheck...this is the real world and these machines are not "cheap" therefore relying on the automatic shutdown to be working...
Thanks for the responses, really like the design of it was thinking about grabbing it if it was even slightly useful to me but it would appear as it is not.
Correct it is but we shouldn't be relying on that as a means of protecting the equipment, my only point was I feel like if the TM says it needs replaced we shouldn't be suggesting to others that it isn't a big deal is all...obviously anyone with any common sense knows you could remove the gauge...
First I never asked the question another member did, and yet again noone is expecting perfection the reply was because Guyfang said that we are making a mountain out of a mole hill by the gauge being of by ~10% which (imo) could be an issue for quick information, if normal operating temp is...
Not meaning to argue but on the topic of the gauges, I don't think anyone expects perfection but if the senders are out of spec per the TM's then they will only get more and more off over time I see no harm in replacing them like the TM states to do when they are out of spec given they are like $9
The senders and gauges are easy to verify if you use a voltage divider like https://ohmslawcalculator.com/voltage-divider-calculator the source voltage will be 12v (the gauge reduces it) the gauges ohms is 33 and the second ohm reading is the reading from the sender, the gauges needle will be...
Right building something for the 803/802 to replace gauges is easy and cheap (pi pico w and a screen is like $25 bucks shipped) issue with price comes into play when you have to protect against the elements and emf.
Correct but I am just imitating the look of the ammps screen to replace gauges...
if you end up needing a coolant sender let me know they are kinda hard to get and i bought 4 of them because 1 + shipping was the same price as 4 with free shipping lol
Reply to the radiator coolant part I didn't originally flush mine but my meter read low on the second run (first run read 190 every run after that even at full load wouldn't read above 135) did a radiator flush and new coolant and new thermostat (180 duralast 15358 is what i used per the tm...
This is the testing and calibration procedure for the ammeter
Just did a cold start and test of oil psi on my machine
from cold start oil PSI = 61
once warmed up it stabilizes and doesn't drop lower than 42-45 PSI
can feel very slight pulsing from oil cap when removed and oil dipstick but it...
For the percent load did you put a known load on it and adjust it first (31.25 amps on each leg and adjust needle to exactly 75% mark on dial?) also for the voltage drop I'm curious if one of the heaters kicks on and off after it gets a certain temp...you can just barely see what looks like a...
