In the situation with my vehicle the GP's wouldn't activate because the engine was already hot; I would guess that whatever fuel that you were getting injected into your was pre-combustion chamber more easily ignited due to the GP's. I guess that you were manually activating your GP's?
I had this happen on my 1008. My problem was a worn IP; after the IP fuel bowl warmed up in about 1/2 hour, I noticed that it was difficult to start when warm. When operating it after a few weeks I lost acceleration due to lower compressibility (bypassing of the fuel around the plunger) of the...
There is an event being planned for the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War. Please check out the 2 links below for more info. The event will be held at the Timonium Fairgrounds in Timonium MD the weekend of June 18 and 19. I spoke with one of the administrators last week and she was very...
Welcome to the site!
Jamaweib's comments are accurate about balancing the load. For your home use you probably won't come close to using full capacity of the set. With my 04 I found a cheap surplus 3 phase Square D panel and use this for distribution. It makes it easy to distribute the loads...
I picked up an M-80 liquid fuel water heater and wanted to use it for a missions event this Spring. I couldn't find any posts about this unit on SS but found some info and a TM by doing a Google search.
Anyone have any history with these units? It seems pretty simple to use as it is basically...
Welcome from Westminster MD; my brother lives in Grasonville, close by you.
Just south of you, there was a guy that had a business at the fork of 50 - 301 and he had an old half track in his storage yard. Every time I stopped by to ask about it it was not for sale. Don't know if it is even still...
Sorry I couldn't make the last breakfast in Eldersburg, I had a couple of deadlines I had to deal with.
If any of you are interested, the Arcadia Gas ans Steam Engine Show is this week at the Arcadia Fairgrounds from Thursday to Sunday. It's located in Arcadia, MD between Hampstead and Boring...
You are better off to charge each battery individually as in series you may have a more difficult time charging with varying conditions of each cell. If you are not in a hurry, always charge on a minimal setting, this reduces heat, Hydrogen gas and prolongs the life of the plates. Check with a...
The M1009 is great for a daily driver because of fuel economy but is limited by minimal tow-abilty and cargo space. The M 1008 is great for local transportation of heavy goods and towing. Modern diesel vehicles greatly surpass the abilities of both vehicles so the 1008 and 1009 shouldn't be...
I've had trouble with several of my MBU's (Modern Burner Units) shutting down after about 40 minutes of operation.
When the failure occurs the trouble code on the display reads ER01 (Error 01) which indicates "Flame Out". I pulled the flame sensor to test it and get no voltage out of it or any...
To honor the 44 WWII veterans who live at Carroll Lutheran Village (a retirement community) a small parade and ceremony has been organized by a friend of mine Craig Singhaus on Aug 14. He is looking for re-enactors and military vehicles to parade around the circuit road within the community to...
Ethanol not only degrades steel and aluminum but reduces fuel efficiency by at least 10%. For all of my small engines I use ethanol free fuel or treat my fuel to eliminate the ethanol.
Check the reservoir bowl in the IP and work your way back to the tank. Possible problems are a blockage in the IP reservoir to the IP, blockage in tank or lines, air in the line, drafting air through a bad hose or fitting, bad lift pump, restriction or issues with the filter housing and filter...
Finally getting around to replacing the seals in my HH. I've suspected a fuel leak through the worn o-rings as my crank case oil level would slowly increase and my oil pressure would drop after the engine warmed up. The most difficult part in removing the HH is that the injector lines at the HH...
Have you checked the oil level in the transmission case. If the fork rods are not lubricated they will stick, low oil will also damage bearings and gears.
Thanks for your reply. I have my unit plugged into a 20 amp dedicated circuit without GFCI as they tend to cut out on heavy motor start ups. I turned all controls on the remote box to off and switched to remote on the heater main panel per the procedure. When I select remote fan the fan starts...
I have 2, H 140 (140,000BTU) heaters, they work really well but both remote control units do not power up or in any way operate the heater. There is a 24v power lamp on the R. C. which does not light up when properly connected to the heater. Inside the heater control panel is a contactor which I...
