I love the paint job. But looking between the front and rear doors, I'm not seeing the plate that is part of the 3 point seat belt MWO like this one:
I see that plate on two of the three M998's I have access to.
IIRC it is part of that seat belt kit from sportsmansguide.
I started going through my 1993 2 door M998 I picked up last Monday.
First I pulled the 8 bolt 26 inch bias plys off and put some 24 bolt 37 inchers from Feltz Tire on because my girl likes her pretty shoes:
The light switch was missing, and apparently it had one of the push button switches...
The weatherstripping I used only partly sealed to keep water from seeping into the cab. It was some stuff from home depot and I did three layers. I'm just going to install one of the gunners platforms and strap stuff down above any potential wetness.
The draft on a -10 day never bothered me...
Does anyone have an idea of where water tends to get into the boxes? I'm planning on some mudding and going through water this summer and I'd like to avoid having an issue... Opening and drying out the box is not a PMC.
Just avoid the following dates please:
MAY 27-30http://www.mudfesthillman.com/events/
July 15-16

While not MV green events, the green machines are popular at them.
Another thing to try instead of disconnecting the TDM is run the steering wheel all the way to one end and hold it there for 5 or so seconds. At least on mine, you will hear the fan fully engage.
I learned that when working on bleeding the steering system per the TM instructions.
So I was having an issue with my oil pressure reading fine at some times and then it would go into a spike mode where it would bounce up to 90psi or all the way to the max.
I posed the issue to my mechanic and he said it's gotta be the pressure sensor/sender.
Rather than following the TM...
I named my friends M977 Squirt after a coolant leak during recovery and the crane also has a leak.
His M929 from out of Louisiana has oxidation everywhere so his handle is Rusty, and Rusty likes huffing ether in the cold...
I see you have oil pans listed. You might want to also pick up a kiddy pool to catch fluids into... Just kidding but maybe not from watching my buddy drain his HEMTT.
Some empty 5 gallon buckets to start with would be good.
Have you identified where you are going to recycle the spent fluids...
So when cleaning my 2 door M998 for the first time, I found 3 spent 25mm cases wedged between the rear curtain and hard divider, and 5 7.62 cases buried in the body nooks and crannies. Of course they were all muddy as ****.
What interesting things has anyone else found?
A couple weeks ago I...
I had picked up what I thought was the correct part and found it was for a divider on a 4 door...
Home depot had some wide weatherstripping that I layered together and put in place. It was a pain and still leaks water into the passenger compartment. I wish I could find a better solution.
Slop is normal in the belts. What is most important is just like a car, watch for cracks...
The volt meter behavior is normal for a KDS glow plug controller. Then length of time it does that bounce is dependent on the warmth of the engine.
See this thread I started...
