while you can get 120/240 output easily, you can NEVER get full potential power output of the gen head. you will get 66% of rated because any way you rewire a 3 phase gen you are only having 2 coils in parallel not 3. the current is limited by the wire size in the gen.
you might just as well...
while that would be logical, each state has it's own rules of enforcement. i remember that it was said that you could not run any 3 axle truck in pa without ifta. that may have changed, i don't know. in maryland certain tags like historic were exempt, but md no longer allows historic tags for...
so someone in the past probably mistook the red tooth for a timing mark. glad you got it all done ok. when you take the HH off and apart there is a simple way to check for wear. remove the plunger and hold it in your hane for a few seconds, 5 to 10 should do it. it now will not go back in the...
G, there seem to be number changes from one mfg to another, but they share some part of the number. i use 1308SL which has 11 balls and the correct shield, made by nachi. also M1207EL made by link-belt, and 1307-L by ntn. for the 14 rollers, i have them .125" longer than stock and they fit fine...
the correct bearing for the top shafts, both front and rear is 1308SL. was there a gasket on the retainer or just that crap people think is as good as a gasket? ( hint, it's not) clean all that stuff off and use the correct gaskets.
key words red tooth 'in sight' but not lined up with anything as it is not a timing mark.
and yes if you do that you don't have to worry about where the valves are assuming it was a running truck with all correct before.
if you bypass the fdc, you really need to check egt or at least the boost...
what you say is correct, but we don't know that the shaft was contacting the retainer, at least i don't see where it is stated. also consider that many people new to transmissions don't know things so when the shaft moves any at all they may think wow that is a lot.
just for the record, with a...
well with respect, i take a little issue with this. without the pilot to hold it, the input shaft does move around. it is a relative thing and subject to experience. it should not move in or out and if you hold the front fixed the gear in the trans should not move side to side any at all. at...
yes definately remove the top cover in the truck!! it makes it far easier. common failures are
1: front bearing, trans must come apart but is easy. use the correct bearing, there are several that will fit but only one correct.
2: front bearing retainer, worn, loose, no gasket, someone used...
