After a 24 hour outtage, my mep 1040 performed flawlessly. Im amazed at the fuel efficiency. When I turned it off, DISASTER! Mind you, after you turn off the unit, it triggers a 10 min countdown before the screen powers off. The genset stopped and the screen went black but the backlighting was...
Im actually going to buy an m200a1 on auction and give it away to anyone in this forum thats willing to take off both jacks and ship them to me in PR. Im searching for one to buy and will post the ad. I paid 250$ for the whole trailer i have but it cost me 2 grand to ship it over.
You are right about that. The shop i used wanted to set the speed at 1800 rpm and i told them to leave the throttle lever adjustable so that i could adjust the rpm. So its always good to clarify that with the shop beforehand since they are not used to the mil spec settings.
About the 007b. The lip seal on the governor linkage breaks and leaks causing the system to loose prime. The injection pump should be rebuilt if its been sitting for a long time. If the avr is bad and an aftermarket avr can be installed with the use of resistors. The transducer shielding melts...
Howdy. I just wanted to know if clay and bailey were able to supply all gaskets? I just got one of these tanks and need the manhole gasket and the bottom drain gasket since my cork was bad. Im thinking of just bolting on a lid on the bottom and be done with that contraption. There is a 1" drain...
Nope, the 005a has a speed switch. Actually pressed it myself today while working on one. Looking at the genset from the front it is located behind the back door on left hand side. It pops out vertically from the engine block and has a canon plug on the top. Where the plug connects there is a...
I own the load bank in the picture. I purchased it off gp a year ago and polished it up. Now i have it mounted in a trailer for portability. Its a great unit and it was like new in the inside. It has made my work way easier in the shop and i can test all the way up to 100kw. It is a 3 phase unit...
On all the 005 and 006 ive worked on, the first thing that comes off is the IP and gets sent straight to the rebuild shop. All have been rebuilt. Now the issue with these 005 is the crankcase seals leaking oil. Also, change the oil drain valve and hose. Always leaking. Good luck.
I used a mcpherson ss460 as a replacement avr for my 805b. Worked like a charm and left all the original components in place. I placed it to the left of the voltage connection board and wired the sensing right there. Hope it helps.
That complete kit should solve the power generation issue. That said, I would not buy it till I make sure the unit produces power. Have you tried exciting it with a 9v battery to the f1 and f1 leads. The 9v will give you a momentary spike in power but will not generate 120v and it might just go...
Hey guys, I'm looking to award the engineer that came up with the horizontal radiator filler neck for the mep 802a and 803a series. This person must defy gravity with his designs. Any ideas for the prize are appreciated. Thanks
Alright, I managed to solve the problem. So after checking everything (fuel rack and lift pumps included) I ended up pulling all 4 injectors and pop testing them. Turns out one injector was bad and this caused it to die under full load. What angers me is that I was so confident that injectors...
Update. Checked the oil pressure with an external gauge and it runs at 36-40 psi constantly even when ot craps out and shuts down. So its not due to oil pressure.
This is not my first rodeo with this model since I own a few. I have performed all filter and fluid changes (oil twice since it came out dark after a few hours of testing). I have a load bank available and can incrementally add loads. The issue is that the unit, set to 62 hz, starts loosing...
