New top and curtain! Top doesn't fit the bows, though!

It could just be a factory flaw. I once bought a brand new M939 series hard top (from another vendor). I removed it from an unopened crate. Well, it did not fit right. The fabrication of the front piece that butts up against the A pillar was crooked. The fabricated part had to be cut to...

    Growly Steering M925a2

Have you checked the fluid level? I assume so, but I had to ask. They whine a bit if they are low on fluid. If it is low, you could have leaking seals somewhere. In that case, I suggest using Lucas power steering fluid/additive. I once had a truck with such a leak and, after a couple of...

Water in fuel? Draining water separator?

I agree with the steel fuel line idea, too. But, the chain that secures the fuel cap to the tank could be contributing, too. It is steel and rusts. They should have made it out of aluminum or stainless steel. As the rust gets more severe, the chain starts to disintegrate and the rust...

    Weird M939 20 foot bed... Insulated/shielded?

I had one just like that. It was an M928 (converted to A1 with super singles) by the USMC. It had a drop-side bed just as you described. I, too, agree that there are not many around, or at least I've not seen them either.

LEO MRAP Caiman power steering problem

What about talking to someone at your local National Guard motor pool?

Mulemac01 M275 2 1/2 ton Gas truck tractor ON-GOING restoration and rebuild tread.

I believe, on the winch trucks, the headlights were mounted higher like they were on the later trucks. Maybe someone else will chime in to confirm my suspicion. I have not had many of the older deuces, but I did have a truck that had a winch and was converted to multi-fuel. It had the higher...

    Branch of service affects value?

I believe the M37 heaters were mounted to the front fender, weren't they? If so, the pictures show no heater.

Were the M151s and the M151A1s in anyway better than the M151A2s?

I own an M151A2 and I concur with what has already been said. The only thing I could think of that may be more desirable in an M151 or M151A1 is that they may be more rare given that they are older. I don't know that for a fact, though, because I don't know how many of each model were released...

Newbie from n.h....just got a 1966 box back running

It looks pretty clean. Also, it has the fuel burning heater in the van body (or at least the exhaust is present). Nice score. Good luck with the recovery.

    Weight badge numbers chart???

I believe I read somewhere...and I am sure someone will either confirm this or shoot me down :) ...that the bridge plate number is something like half of the GVW of the truck (if a trailer is being towed, the bridge plate would show the C for COMBINED and that weight would be included). So, if...

    Weight badge numbers chart???

I could be mistaken, but I think the OP was asking for guidance on the bridge plate number to be used with his/her truck. I think they were asking if there is a resource out there that specifies the numbers to be used for particular model trucks.

    Breton industries leaky top

I would contact Breton to see what they can do for you. I would want a replacement, but I don't know what their warranty period is.

Is 383 / 34094 the correct green for our MTVR?

383 green is the correct color for your truck, assuming you want to stick with green as the base color.

Freightliner M916a1 frame length behind cab ?

No, another member (jcappeljr) purchased it and converted it into a dump, I believe.

    Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle AMPV

It did in many roles. But, the M113 is still in service and serves many roles that the Bradleys do not (e.g., battlefield ambulance, engineer vehicle, command vehicle). The AMPV is supposed to send the M113 to retirement for good...if they are able to buy enough of them.

    Our MTVR camper:

Great job. I enjoy reading about your progress. Thanks for posting all of the updates! Will the front door seals be able to resist blowing rain at 55-65 MPH? It looks like it could be a potential water trap. I guess they are designed for serious storms so you should be fine. You may want to...
