My trans oil swap to ATF

My first move when I used to get a truck with an Allison transmission was to take it to Allison for servicing. They would do a fluid swap and check everything out. When I got there, they always asked me if I wanted 15W40 back in. I asked them what they'd recommend and they told me Transynd...

How many miles on a multi fuel?

I concur with the other posters. 34K miles would not concern me at all if the truck ran well and was in good shape. What would be of interest to me is the care provided by the current owner. Did the current owner put a decent amount of mileage on it (e.g., they put 5K of the 34K miles on it)...

How do you make a LMTV NOT suck in the snow?

I concur. While we don't get these types of snows down in MD, we do get them. I drove my M925A2 through 34 inches or so of snow, and the truck did well. You knew it wasn't summer, but the truck pulled through it all. I was by myself, with no back up to help, so I was worried a bit. I did...

Its cold outside lets talk Heaters, H81, H82, H83, etc.

I thought I saw in the manual there was an electrical connection for 120V use. But, I might be mistaken as I don't know a lot about these heaters. I will do as you suggested. Thanks!

Its cold outside lets talk Heaters, H81, H82, H83, etc.

Does anyone know where I can find the 120V electrical connection for an H140 Choctaw heater? I recently acquired it, and I'd like to test it out. I can obviously cut the cable and splice something in, but I'd prefer to find the correct cable. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, I was thinking of the T831s.

M813 vs m35A2 which is bigger

Rich, Firestone made some really nice looking 1100s for the military. I've only had them on one truck. Very aggressive tread pattern. I forget the model number, though.

    TRUCK M35A2 U.S AIR FORCE

I have seen the air scoop mounted facing down as in the second picture, but I don't think it is correct. I have installed a few heater kits, and I don't recall that in the instructions. The deuce in the background shows the air scoop in the proper mounting direction from what I have read...

Fuel additives for cold weather and/or storage

Yes. Joe Young from NJ (RIP), a long time deuce dealer, told me he used to do it back before they had winter and summer blend fuels. He was a fuel oil distributor. I don't recall if he ever told me the formula for correctly doing it, and I never thought of doing it given the winter fuels that...

Fuel additives for cold weather and/or storage

I use Power Service diesel fuel conditioner mostly, but I've also used Howes. I have had good service from them. I actually use that stuff all year around. The biggest thing I'd caution you (and everyone) about is making sure you burn through your summer blend fuel before it gets really cold...

A buddy sent me this today. Its located in Huntington, WV at Taylors scrap yard and they are asking $2,600. Dont know anything else about it.

I don't believe the actual wrecker bodies were different between the M936s (other than the spare tire location...1100 vs. 1400). It is not like the differences between the M62s and M543s.

The dead giveaway from this pic is the 1100x20 Goodyear G177 radial tire mounted on the body.

    The coolest thing happened...

I believe CARNAC also acquired an M35A2 from a unit with which he served.
