    Moving to Russia

I stayed in a small town myself about 90 minutes outside of Moscow. We did quite a bit of sightseeing around, though, and it included Moscow.

    Moving to Russia

My wife is Russian and I have been there, too. Very nice place to visit. If in Moscow, there are several really good military museums that have a lot of RARE German WWII armor. Also, I'd suggest going to the Kubinka military museum south of Moscow.

    HMMWV's

The crazy part is it took two parties to feel this truck was worth it!

What should the oil pressure be on the 6.5L?

I have had the truck for about four years and have driven it long distances (3-5 hours). It has 92K miles.

What should the oil pressure be on the 6.5L?

I have a 1997 civilian Chevy 3500 pickup with a 6.5TD. The gauge reads about 45 pounds when cold and at idle. While running (revving up) it reads over 50 PSI. When hot, at idle, it reads about 18 PSI. The truck runs beautifully and does not burn oil. I am NOT worried about that in the least.

Sinking an M561 Gama Goat at Camp Pendleton, CA

Different vehicles, but you were not even supposed to swim the m548a1/m1015a1 as the rear bilge pump was omitted. The guy I bought my M548a1 from DID swim it for a brief time (he sent me a video). It worked because the one bilge pump was able to keep up.

    Why the ads?

I have not seen any ads popping up on the bottom. The only ads I see are at the top of the screen from vendors.

Sinking an M561 Gama Goat at Camp Pendleton, CA

I don't know much (anything) about the Gama Goats. Do they have plugs that go into the hull/body before swimming them? I know the M548s/M1015s have such plugs. You are in for a bad day if you forget to put those plugs in and try to swim the vehicle.

    M923 A2 Trans slippage?

The dip stick is under the hood, back by the firewall on an M939A2. On the earlier trucks, it was accessed in the cab through a door in the middle of the cab floor. I concur on checking/replacing the fuel filters. One additional curve, however (that is in addition to what FUZZY said): not all...

    M416 Price Question

I sold one about 2 years ago without a title for $750 to a guy on this site. I had the paperwork to get a title and told him I could do so, but the price would have raised to $1000 (due to the time and hassle, tax, and title fee). He opted to purchase it for $750. My trailer was in original...

Questions - MERDC Camo Pattern and Unit Markings

Contact DAVID DOYLE on this list. He has written books that included a lot of information on the various camo patterns and painting of vehicles. Also, you could contact CUCVFAN. He bought my M151A2 from me (or his dad did). That truck was correctly painted in the MERDC camo scheme. I love...

Question about standard PMP and MWO tag on 5 ton trucks up for auction

I concur. The RRAD M939 series trucks that have come out were NOT overhauled in the true sense of the term in most cases. There could have been a few trucks that had all rebuilt mechanical components, but that was not the rule. I, and others, have stated this previously, but they did receive...

Replacing copper air lines in an 809 series

I once lent an M35A2 to a friend who wanted to towbar another M35A2 out of a local base after his purchase. Being younger and dumb(er), I agreed to let him use my truck and towbar. The recovery was a success. Upon pulling into my yard after he dropped off his truck, he hit the brakes (I was...

    Shelter for a M105A2

What Dave has is a CBC shelter. That is the shelter I was going to recommend. I used to have one. They are very nice.

Uprights and Bows - What do I have?

Upon further review, I don't think those bows are for the extended height cargo cover. They did make such covers, but I think they may be for a HEMTT like others have stated.

Uprights and Bows - What do I have?

They made extended height cargo covers. I've also seen unit fabricated extended height cargo covers. I believe those bow assemblies are for that cover.

RIP Andrew Lukaesko - aka Scrounger

When last I saw Andrew in person in April, he had invited my wife and I over. When we were there, he insisted on opening a new bottle of Ron Zapata rum. He said, "they told me not to drink any alcohol, but how bad could it be for me given that I have cancer!" The three of us had a shot in his...

RIP Andrew Lukaesko - aka Scrounger

I am so sorry. I last communicated with him on 8/3. His message: Bruce, Things could be better. I won't bore you with the details other that to say I'm glad that Maurice is around to help me out. Andrew I had been in contact with him several times over the previous several weeks and, each...

    Arizona Registration Follies: SF97 Fail

As OSTEO16 said, I always get titles, not the SF97. I dealt with this previously with GOVLIQUIDATION. At first, they tried to give you a notarized letter indicating they were reassigning said vehicle to you. That did not work in Maryland. Then, they got wise and eventually started issuing...

5-Ton Power Steering Assist Cylinder rebuild

I once had the same problem with a leaking power steering assist cylinder. I don't recall the overspray issue so the cause may have been different. In my case, I had a truck that was being used in an Army mechanic's school that had like 125 miles on it when I got it (verified by CARNAC back in...
