I did have to use a half inch shorter belt due to the new alt pulley being smaller. The power steering booster hose had to be bent a little out of the way as did the brake lines but as you can see it was minimal.

Finally got it finished. I have a drawing with dimensions too. I'll post it later. I'm still waiting on some parts to come in, like the inlet filter and crankcase vent, air manifold to house the pressure switch etc. 18 feet of 3/8 hose runs under the interior carpet, hidden and connects to a 5...
So only have a couple hours into it so far. It's all 1 solid plate of 1/4 x 5 flat bar with a few simple cuts and bends. I'll post up the measurements and angles when its finished, so others can make one.
I'll try and finish it Thursday.

I suspect as always not all hose is created equal. Some is said to be made in USA and some in Germany. I know the cheapie Dormans are hencho in chiner

I have not done enough research to conclude if the Viton hose is better or worse than the regular hose. It looks better on paper but I haven't tried it yet.
I took the braiding off my hoses and had no issues fitting new clamps on. The old ones loose their spring and I couldn't spread them far...
Yep. Mine were the "USA Made", cloth braided and cut to length roll Ebay lines. 3 months and they are rock hard, the braid is useless as it frays and becomes loose. They also leaked without the clamps.
I put a new set of clamps on them before they got hardened from heat cycles and they are...
It's in excellent condition, very lightly used. With how infrequent I'll be using it I dont expect oil usage to be an issue. I'm putting a drain cock at the little air tank to drain any potential contaminates out. I've also coated the inside of the tank with red primer to rust proof it for life...
I have a 3 gallon that fits on the passenger side fender inside. Gonna keep it simple. No driers or filters. Plugged the oiler hole in the York to reduce the oil discharge and will be also running a crankcase vent on it.
Mods If this belongs in the modding section......please do. Thanks

Well....1 pic anyway. Gonna mount this York 210 to the CUCV. I plan to put AC in this truck eventually. Which will tie up passenger side. So drivers side looks like the best place to do a York mount. This will be for running an impact wrench or airing up tires offroad. Nothing crazy.
I have...
Howd the old fluid and pan look? It's either something in the valve body or leaky internal seals. When it warms things seal better and build pressure.

Why replace the injection pump? Does it have any other issues? Does it run, start, perform normally? Considering the pumps are usually around 10 psi internal housing pressure they dont really suck in air. They do however leak fuel out the throttle shaft and advance piston plunger seal at the...
I replaced the tailgate seal for now. I went out a couple days ago on a good old dusty AZ trail and was pleased to find the dust was pretty much non existant. Rolling the windows up and turning the blower on high also worked to pressurize the cab a bit.

Mine did 3 years ago. Truck had 17000 miles on it from the military. It went from zero drip to puddle in the driveway overnight. Jack up the frame to let the front axle droop, pull the pan and get R done. Mine was factory sealed with rtv and was GLUED to the block. I had to use a propane torch...
It's not hard to reseal a pump with a 30 dollar kit but if you just want her done and dont mind spending a few bucks, definitely go replacement.
DieselCare on ebay has inexpensive rebuilding services and CUCVRUS as well as others have good reviews.

Most CUCVs dont have the plastic governor ring retainer, that was a pre 1985 Stanadyne design.
If it sat for several years, I'd suspect fuel tank issues. Maybe algae?
Louder engine as in how? More diesel clatter? Fuel inlet pressure has a direct effect on pump timing, higher pressure means...
Yuck....undertstatement of the year. Born and raised here. Good 4 wheeling though, if you dont mind dust. PM me sometime for a beer and military vehicle bull session.
