dodjh. This happened to my neighbors 318 in his Dodge Dart. It started running poor, and he suspected the timing chain gave way, so when he drained the oil plastic debris from the timing sprockets came out. You might give an oil change a try and see if you don't find some timing chain and...
Aussie, I'll try and make this brief, if that's possible. I developed this Tow Bar mount because I have had major back and neck surgery. Carrying the tow bar in the bed of my truck made it nearly impossible to use, as I cannot lift the tow bar out, or return it to the truck bed. I noticed in a...
dodjh. When you replace freeze plugs always replace them with brass/bronze freeze plugs, you will not have to replace them again. Also, add a little Permatex around the sealing edge of the freeze plug, a little guarantee of a tight seal. Also with the freeze plug issue, check the rest of your...
SC, your handle is a bit different from mine. My truck is 71/72 but the winch came off another truck. I purchased the winch, don't know what year it is, complete from the mid west, the frame had been blow torched at the radiator and the winch, bumper, PTO, and drive shaft all arrived strapped to...
I have the M-52 air cannister painted and re-installed along with a new air filter, with about 1/3 of the truck painted I ran out of paint, so I ordered more paint that I hope will arrive here by Wednesday.
M35, when you get the family involved it becomes a family affair. My wife got involved when I got my Deuce 13 years ago, and now she is my navigator. She spent a lot of time driving with me, so I installed a drivers spring seat in place of the passenger side bench seat. More comfortable.
Mike, if possible try to stay away from the New Star brake shoes, they're made in China. Some of the linings are real thick and that can make it hard to install the brake drum, even with the adjusters turned all the way down. Here's a pic of the good GI brake shoes, they're getting hard to find.
dodjh, NDT maybe right. I have found that giving the carburetor float bowl a couple gentle taps with a plastic hammer, will sometimes free up a sticking float and needle. 2cents
Painting the Deuce Woodland Green, got the M52 air cannister off for fresh paint and a new filter. Hope to finish the truck off in a 3 tone camouflage. Keeping my fingers crossed.
